Having tried both demos I have to say The Show is still far superior in my experiences. I actually like 2k's new throwing system. It seems to open the way for more variation in how the pitch is thrown. However the hitting didn't seem as connected, and the fielding was atrocious. I literally had my second baseman get the ball a foot away from the bag, yet he had to stop and take 2 seconds to toss the ball to the short and I failed to get the double play because of it.
the sad thing is that 2k didnt even try improving this game and they admitted to all the flaws they found in 2k9 i dont know why year after year they try to compete with the show

Graphics were great, but not as good as the show. the batting was very hard, even on rookie.

Xbox 360 also has a failure rate of around 60%. My Xbox is sitting on a shelf collecting dust. My PS3 actually had one problem of disc jamming, but it fixed itself.

2K9 is also way better on pitching controls. In MLB 09, all you do is press a button for a pitch but on 2K9 you actually control the movement by analog.
you dont really control the movement of the pitch with the analog, just the pitch you throw. honestly its more or less the same as the meter, just presented differently. but i do like the confidence thing in 2k9. for those of you who dont know what i mean: when youre not pitching well or get behind in a count, the aimer starts to shake around making it even harder to locate youre pitches. its a good feature.

I played the MLB 09 and the gameplay sucks compared to MLB 2K9. Graphics don't always make a game good. Gameplay is important if you ask me.

Everyone is biased here simply because they have an xbox 360. It is embarrassing that they can't admit that Mlb 09 the show blows Mlb 2k9 out of the water. I know people are entitled to their own opinion but that is wrong somehow. Mlb 2k9 literally looks like a psp game that glitches horribly.

The Show is a better all round game. 2k has better commentary. The Show has more actuate ratings and has a way better franchise mode.

Because mvp 05 was one of the best baseball game you should try it and compare it other 2005 baseball game. and there gamespot rating is almost identical at 8.9 9.0 and good games upgrade higher rating and if there was a mvp 09 it would be a no competition then mlb the show

2K9 is very fun. Don't believe those people that says it sucks. I mean glitches rarely happen? i played it for hours since i got it and i haven't seen a single glitch. Besides all games have glitches -.- (if you spend hours finding them)
2K9 is also way better on pitching controls. In MLB 09, all you do is press a button for a pitch but on 2K9 you actually control the movement by analog.
Overall i think they're both good baseball games

you dont really control the movement of the pitch with the analog, just the pitch you throw. honestly its more or less the same as the meter, just presented differently. but i do like the confidence thing in 2k9. for those of you who dont know what i mean: when youre not pitching well or get behind in a count, the aimer starts to shake around making it even harder to locate youre pitches. its a good feature.
