i started liking the bcrs in 1977 i didnt know them with these band members who are they went to a bay city roller concert in december 1977 in Boston Mass those were the days!!
@nateswitch I don't know how old you are, but that's just the way things were done back then. When I was a little girl back in the '60's, our class had a field trip to a TV station where there were singing groups performing on the show we were invited to. They played recordings of the songs from the various groups, while the performers lip synced to them. That's just the way they did things.
@farashahanem oh ok, sorry i didnt know, ive wasnt around then so i never saw shows like this.
I shouldnt of said it was lame, the band is great and the song is awesome, i just meant it was lame that they were lip syncing, all tho now its been explained thanks :)
@nateswitch It's okay, you didn't know. I think it's a little-known fact about television and the media back in those days. Lip syncing does serve a purpose, but yeah, these days, it can cause a scandal sometimes. Interesting fact: Erik Faulkner (lead guitarist) came from a classical music background. He was a violinist in high school.
@nateswitch I tried posting a link that explains about lip syncing, but it kept making an error every time I tried to post it, I'm sorry. You can google it, though, and learn some pretty interesting stuff. :)
@BobLemkeSux.....No, I don't have a sister, so I used your sister's dildo. As it turned out, it was far too big for their "skinny asses", and would only accommodate your sister's grand canyon...and your ass.
Not sure if this was recorded for TV - or what - but depending on the circumstances and the venue, bands are often required to lip-synch. I do know that Les McKeown CAN SING! And he does it well. The man is a natural born performer. (I have no idea who the rest of those guys are.)
@patrick9648 You have to ask why? Mainly because they are washed up pieces of garbage who sound like dogs gasping for their last breath. So i guess lip synching the original was a no-brainer
BCR,a 1 hitwonder that travel the world for years, and filled stadiums....?Sure...Use Google or some other search-machine on your PC,look for The BCR and then come back here...
I love Leslie. The BCR's were one of the first boybands created. . A lot of performers these days are spoilt and act like primadonnas (sorry don't know what to call the men) who demand special treatment. The BCR's just got on with it and knew what it was all about ......the music and performance, They don't get the credit they are due to them. The music these days are such crap. And Leslie was and still is a true performer.
From what little I could see, I saw one original roller, Les. I watched it hoping to see all of the original Bay City Rollers. Good song and video though.
Well it was after all a TELEVISION performance of the song - so if they are doing a Lip sync to the record version, what's the big deal? Do people all sing "live" on TV all the time? Lots of things are pre-recorded - I'm not defending them as if they are a reincarnation of The Beatles, but it's not a crime against Nature to use a pre-recorded track ~ it's probably a re-mix of their original hit version, I would imagine.
I have news for you. The Ramones said they liked this group and their music and this specific song. The Ramones said 'Blitzkrieg Bop' was their version of this song. The Ramones had as much of an influence on rock music and any band today will EVER have. This kind of music is simple and clean and fun for the time it was written. It is better than the EXCREMENT that is filled with sex and violence and sold to kids today.
Can anyone tell me what video is it that they are kicking these gigantic white beach balls around while playing on stage?.I found it once & lost it!!! They all look like they're having so much fun.
just love this. The rollers where forced on me by my big sis as she was mad about them. I had the honour of sharing the bill with Les's Rollers when he played N. Ireland, we got on so well he shared half his bottle of JD with me in the dressing room after the gig. Thanks for posting this, great stuff.
les has his own band now(theyr on here, and in my favourites)they still tour now les is better, eric as far as i know stil tours scotland and ian lives in the states now, i have them all on myspace so keep up to date with them. hpoe this helps. j

I remember them in the 70's Les looked a lot younger than he does in this video. The others do not look right either. Let's face it, it wasn't live when they did it.
I'm not sure the exact date of this but I saw Les and Ian live in Altanta in 1994. This is Les McKeown's 70's Bay City Rollers. Les and Ian are wearing matching white outfits.
I never saw this in 1976, but if this is really 1976, where the heck are Derek, Alan, Woody & Eric?? There's got to be a story here. Always loved them, still do, and it's always nice to see Les! :)
