  • Joke my teacher told me:

Do you know what kind of music they played in the Baroque time?

    Barock.

  • Does the 1st tune have a ternary structure? please help im doing my GCSE's this is just revision:)

  • Baroque is your favourite period of classical music!? Classical is it's own period!

  • @Polaris543 Classical is also a genre that encompasses a variety of periods.

  • @delorfilinde This is fresh In my mind so I would know. Classical was a single period. It was completely different to Baroque and completely different to the Romantic period. People who don't know much about music history just over lap these three and the modern period as being "classical music". They aren't. They are all different.

  • @Polaris543 I'm glad it's fresh in your mind. Yes, I understand that there are different periods and "classical" is considered one, just as is , baroque, 20th-century and modern, romantic, etc. However, there is an extremely broad variety of forms, styles, genres, and historical periods generally perceived as being described by the term "classical music".

  • @delorfilinde 20th century IS modern orchestra. It's only considered "classical" that don't known much about music before the rap and pop. I know this because I'm studing it for Music AS level

  • @Polaris543 20th century is very different than modern. Sigh* I have a BMus in music as well as working on a Master. But, that's beside the point. Please don't assume that who you are talking to is less qualified in the education system than you and please know and understand your facts and research before arguing with a music librarian and grad student. Classical is a genre as well as a period. Have a nice day.

  • @delorfilinde My apologies. I just always seems like I'm talking to people who think they know everything about a subject when in fact they are extremely ignorant or being a pseudo intellectual. I think I'm sure of my facts and I stand by my argument. Nevertheless I see it as foolish to continue this pathetic intelligence parade. Once again, My apologies

  • @Polaris543 Apology accepted. :) I apologize as well for being forward on my stance.

  • @delorfilinde *Shakes hand

  • Did you know baroque music can make your brain stronger

  • i use baroque music at my school

  • Fabulous !!

  • Marvel...59 are deaf!

  • Beautiful. Thank you!!

  • Dude u just light up one teenager's soul =P

  • thank you so much! enjoy the history lesson aswell. now i know my favourite. what resonates with my heart :)

  • God this is gay

  • "And, as I always say, if it's not baroque, don't fix it!"

  • I went to HMV to buy Baroque music but was completely baffled by the choice, Italian, French, German, or English. Someone help me!!!!!!!!! I just want the real thing!

  • @dlewzey Italian

  • If ain't baroque don't fix it

  • @goodbyeyo stop copying other comments

  • thanks for the video! I have to understand the features of baroque music for my exam later on today!

  • Is it a coincidence that all these pieces are amongst the most "cliche" music ?

I mean everyone heard them before in adds, on tv, or radio...

  • " Baroque is my favorite period of classic music " ????

  • Hasse is not on the list?

  • do not mess about with Ludwig Van Beethoven.

  • what's the name of the piece at 1:58?

  • GZZZZ

  • IN MY HUMBLE OPINION, U DNT HAVE TO STUDY THE CLASIC MUSIC TO LOVE IT.... MY KIDS LOVES IT, THEY JUST DOESN T LIESTEN JUNK MUSIC., AND THEY ARE 11, 9 AND 5 YEARS OLD.AT THE KINDERGARDEN THEY ARE LIESTENING ROSSINI AND BHRAMS, ETC...

  • great video! :) Appreciate you educating ignorant people on what should really be called music.

  • @Bernadette3198 Music is music. Not having your taste is not what I d call being ignorant. From a baroque musician...

  • you have done an excellent job of laying out these foundations of baroque music for us. seeing the faces of these composers and their vital statistics and lists of their most famous works .. all whilst their musical creations are playing in the background .. this is a 3-D Reference video. i shall use it as a study guide and return to it often. thank you very much.

  • wow. world is full of nerds.

  • @cozkul wow, world is full of ignorants, OMG JUST LIKE YOU!

  • @cozkul Nerds? How old are you? And that comment is probably coming from an ignorant person who hasn't studied music.

  • @Wingedstars This is not about being ignorant, but more about talking of thinks you don t know about....

  • i'm a little distracted

  • what's the title of the piece at the end please?

  • @MrDoushebag Bach Minuet in G major...

  • The mix suck ass... :)

  • This always reminds me of Louis XIV and Versailles

  • can someone please tell me the Bach songs that were played? pretty please~

  • Ah.......we believe in music more than we believe in ourselves. It won't help you if you don't wanna be helped.

  • I also enjoy listening to this time period, but I don't find it simple, due to has the fact it is polyphonic. Other than that it really is beautiful

  • With the boccherini song... all I can think of is that one commercial in the 90s that used this... it was really weird too, like, some sort of pill or constipaiton medicine or something lol :D

  • I LOVE XVI XVII (:

  • im hearing this instead of learning! Damn it! this don't work :P

  • What was the piece at the very start because I would like to play it with my Baroque group

  • ELLLLLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • actually baroque is the most complex genre of music, it uses a musical device called counterpoint

I should know i play piano and study music theory

Also composers dont have a "best work"

  • @Mrweeeed420 they have a most famous or most popular work

Counterpiont is the rules for baroque music,

Instead of having a meldoy and a harmony, in counter (which is used in most baroque music) it is melody on melodyo or sorta like two melodies played simultaniuosly to create a beautiful & complex sound

You also have your dates wrong, the baroque era was from roughly 1600- 1750

  • @Mrweeeed420 nice video though, sorry if i sounded condescending

  • @Mrweeeed420 LOL Yes sure, you play piano so you know about baroque music...

There is a conflict of periods here...

  • "If it ain't baroque,don't fix it."

  • @Xxharukapanda Ba dum tsss!

  • @Xxharukapanda haha my teacher told me tht joke

  • Thankyou this realy helps with my GCSE thankyou

  • man, skrillex makes sum really dope beats. i dig dis shit.

  • No love for Corelli and Telemann? Oh well. Still a great list.

  • "I like Baroque because the music is simple, neat and beautiful."

    Totally agree!! :)

  • study music :))

  • Anyone here listen to this cause experts say it improves ur homework productivity :p

  • @kleinesap yup

  • @kleinesap Dam straight lol... It's great for absorbing new Information.

  • @kleinesap You need to learn an instrument before that happens.

  • @kleinesap i listen to it cuz its awesome...

  • @kleinesap, actually, I am currently doing my homework, and I like to listen to baroque music while working, but I have never heard the experts said that! haha

  • @KlaustoIsakara hahaha yes, our teacher showed us some video with study tips from some teacher from a us university, and it said only this type of music helps you study the rest just distracts you :P

  • @kleinesap That's just something they say to make people do their homework.

    Still works though.

  • @kleinesap and it makes you brain stronger

  • If you could list all names of the music in the description, that would be great! Thanks! :)

  • @bnrshdydvdrtrk hahahahahahahahaaaa Tell me it s a joke ?!?!

  • @olivier1980973 I don't think it's funny.

  • @bnrshdydvdrtrk No you're right, it's not funny, it's hilarious ! Didn't you notice names and periodes at the beginning of each sample ?

Anyway Bobby Tam doesn't really sound baroque...

    I think it's sweet, don't think I'm insulting you :)

  • Can you tell me the name of the music you used in the introduction? I really liked it, whose is it?

  • @bunnyOV The music in the introduction is from J.S. Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 5

  • Una selección deliciosa y magníficamente ilustrada.

    Felicitaciones.

  • For some reason Baroque music resonates with me. No idea why, I'm not classically (a Word?) trained but it..IS.

I've seen my son when he was 5 cry.

  • Ohhhhh , everybody has heard of Pachelbel, and everybody and their uncle knows that it was he who composed Canon in D. Great compilation. Thank you.

  • Thank you so much for making this incredible video. Your explanations coupled with music are informative and amazing. Please post more! I think I love Vivaldi the most

  • So, the Age of Baroque was responsible for the Halleluiah song?

  • I Just love Johann Pachelbel's one!! it's so elegant and tranquil. :)

  • Baroque music cant be "simple" , in art, the word "baroque" actually means that something is complicated, baroque music does not necessary follow the rules of tha basic estructure of a composition.

  • I thought mozart made the four season

  • i thought Boccherini was classical

  • @emilylamct Boccherini is technically from the classical era, but Minuet is commonly mistaken as baroque because of the "baroque-sound".

  • Baroque is definitely not simple

  • @EricPlainandSimple Yeah, I was thinking the same thing when I read that. It is its complexity that sets it aside from the other eras.

  • @EritreanChic

It is also its complexity that makes it echo the equally complex human soul

  • I love metal..and baroque

  • @kamakshi179 Some people would crucify you for loving both, I say you re an open minded !

  • wich song is playing in the 9:36? i want to know :)

  • thank you... LOV Boccherini too - a few new ones tooo that I wan't aware of... thank you for sharing this... : )

  • I really love this video, it really helps my project, Thanksss!!! :D

  • Pachelbel ftw!

  • Baroque, a feast for the ears!.

  • il manque un grand compositeur baroque: CORELLI le concerto grosso op6 no8 est une pure merveille, on l'appelait pas "il divino" pour rien

  • All my favorites....thanks for posting, it's GREAT !!

  • bocherini es clasico no barroco

  • Please I don't remember the name of the track wich starts at 8.05... I hope you will help me to remind it

  • I think everyone has heard of Pachelbel, but they just don't know that he is the one who made Canon in D.

  • @cmaldonado8 Unless you're an idiot....

  • @cmaldonado8 ............ but thats all he wrote thats credible... how can they not know

  • @theMeeTubechannel Because some people just don't bother finding out who is behind great work. They just hear it a like it and call it "that one song" lol.

  • Thank you!!!!

  • Ah...so peaceful. I'm just starting to get into classical music and I'm really liking Baroque. :)

  • LISTEN TO THIS MUSIC WHILE STUDYING. IT PUTS YOUR BRAIN INTO THE PROPER WAVES FOR LEARNING AND REMEMBERING.

Yeah, I take psychology classes. :)

  • I love your video with this music. Thank you very much indeed!

  • Nice video. I like Bach, and Vivaldi too.

  • Just a note: The first music heard in this music is the amazing Brandenburg Concertos No.5 - i: Allegro by Bach. Everyone should check it out!

The last music heard is Minuet in G by Petzold.

If you're into baroque music, don't forget about Telemann and (last but not least) Domenico Scarlatti and is 555 sonatas!

  • Is not just "your favourite", but favourites of all people. In modern words, "Megamix of Top-Hits" (the Bocherini cello track, not very known). How is called the Handel slow-fragment bofore the "Spring"

  • That was like an antipasto plate of gorgeous music. Left me wanting to hear the pieces in full. Thank you.

  • What's the final Vivaldi piece in the video?

  • im sorry did you say baroque is simple? baroque is about strong emotional expression in all forms. also. rococo is actually the late baroque term. i did like that you saved the best for last though

  • Don't mean to be rude, but try comparing this to dubstep!

  • What a wonderful video for those of us who love Baroque music, but know little about it. Thank you. My favourite too, is Pachabel's Canon in D, and my favourite CD is called "Pachabel's Greatest Hit' and features 8 different versions of his masterpiece.

  • These music really inspire me from many boring pieces. Thanks for sharing!

  • I don't know why you forgot Jean-Baptiste Lully .

  • @jeffkodiac Because it s a condense of cliche "popular" music.

Obviously he didn t listen to enough music, otherwise he would have made different choices for this video. And this is just the obvious, I m not judging.

  • Hermosa !

  • the music at 9:29 up 9:49

  • @LookMeThIs Bach, Cello Suite No. 1: Prelude. :)

  • what is the name of the last bach song? i've been trying to find it for ages. :/

  • one thing baroque music isn't simple, the hardest things i've had to conduct or play are baroque. awesome video though.

  • What's the music playing from 2:28 to 2:54? It's so cool. :)

  • What are the years of Broque music? what are the years of Classical? what is the difference between them? thank you and anyone who knows the answers please reply me :)

  • :D

  • For me Boccherini is a classic composer and I think that one of his best works is Casa del Diavolo.

  • I think youll find thats 48 people that don have good taste!!!! : P

  • whats the name of the very last clavicordio melody??

  • Whats the music at 9:28-9:49 can someone please tell me?

  • Baroque music is not "simple" it is very flamboyant, intricate and frilly. "Simple" is about as polar opposite from baroque as you can get ¬¬

  • I find I love Metal, gothic metal, hardcore etc, and then I love Baroque and all those classical music as well! Anyone who feels the same? :)

  • @amandapotterify exactly the same. u should listen to Dissection if u dont already. amazing band

  • Where is Scarlatti and Corelli? And who the fuck the first 2?

  • the is the title of the last music that you played? Its my favorite but i dont know the title..

  • very good

  • what version of cannon in D is played during this video?

  • in love

  • If you could produce a list of the songs in this video and their composers, that would be SO great :)

  • Music like this will never die.

  • Baroque Music is not "Classical" Music. The "Classical" Periode of music came only later, with a short overlaying periode.

    Baroque Music approx. 1600 - 1750

Classical Music approx 1730 - 1830 (the periode ends with the death of Shubert and Beethoven)
