supposed to be studying for finals. it's 1:45 in the morning. have an english final tomorrow i'm only half prepared for. opting to listen to regina instead :) <3
elvis muchh!? lolll can someone please comment and watch my cover song! regina is one of my biggest idol! pleasee help me get some recognition! comments are greatly appreciated! <3 peace love reggie! loll
haha this is so stupid but I've had this song on my iPod forever and just realized BYOS stands for Bring Your Own Shovel. ah do i ever feel like an idiot lol
This is terrible. I thought it was a joke at first- BYO-SNL- but I see it's actually intended to be serious. Did someone say this is really about genocide? If so, it's in really poor taste. If not, well, it's still in poor taste. BYOS is right...
While the Holocaust was real and terrible, there are many other genocides--even bigger ones--most of you don't remember. Stop fixating on just the one. Over 2 million Russians died in the siege of Leningrad alone--just one city. Or do you think only a certain ethnic/religious group's lives matter?
Wow. All I said was it made me think of the holocaust. I didn't specify which one. And in no way does my comment imply that I only believe that certain ethnic/religious group's lives are important.
its really nice you mantion that... there are just a few people that knows about russian communisem crimes... i mean if you are comparing that with the Holocaust... thats probably because communisem is still very strong in Russia... so you cant blame
juicipopsicle for thinking that this song is about holocaust... almost nobody knows about the things you were mentioning....
Reginaspanties, the siege of Leningrad was done by Nazis (Germans; over 2 millions of Russians died during the siege), and in no way related to any "communism crimes". If you have no idea what you are talking about, don't speak.
o god i didnt mean that.. i'm sorry for saying that on that stupid way...
digginestdogg was talkin about the other genocides and so i mentioned this one i'm sorry that you understood it wrong... next time ill write it more logicly...:)
of course people think about other genocides and the lives of people affected by them. stop being such a smug asshole. the holocaust is the most well known genocide by poeple who have never experienced one and fans of regina know that she is jewish. the song sounds like it is in someway related to the holocaust if you actually listen to the lyrics and its fine to state your opinion, you just don't have to be such a bitch about it.
when she sings "well i thought i'd do something nasty as well", it sounds like part of the sound of music. ("brown paper packages tied up with string, these are a few of my favorite things..." =P)
And the little Elvis part with 'all shook up, ohh' She does little stuff like that a lot. Another song I can remember is 'Raindrops' where she has that little piece that kinda goes with Raindrops Are Falling On My Head song. I just love the woman
@shoelace07 it does! I thought the exact same thing. It made me feel more connected to her, because when I think of songs and lyrics, I always mix other song sounds in with it...
but i always wished regina would do a song more personal. not that her stuff is bad when it's not...i'm just dying to hear a story of her life or something she expierenced. still love her!
I wish that I had the courage to just freely create like she does. She just pours random ideas and thoughts and feelings onto her piano and runs with it. It's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.
Here I am again :)

her best music isn't in any of the studio albums, i think thats the way she used to think, like when she wrote making records
just my opinion

where did you get these unreleased demos??
jlt759 2 years ago 7
You can get all of them from the RespektOnline fan site. Just search for the name of the song in the search box or browse the listings of songs.
These "unreleased" ones are versions that just haven't appeared on any retail album yet.

@slicknick1986 of course... the fact that its on youtube, means that is was in fact, released. just... perhaps unintentionally

Hey she kinda copyed System Of a Down
cuz they made a song calle B.Y.O.B
(bring your own booze)
cool
Bobolala333 2 years ago
This song is almost a decade old. She didn't copy SOAD.
And for the record. System's cover is called "BRING YOUR OWN BOMBS" that album was highly politicised and you contains various war-related puns.

systems Song, I meant to say, not cover
ooeeygooey 2 years ago
dude, that term was around when my /parents/ were in college. in the seventies. Regina was making a pun on BYOB, bring your own 1. bottle or 2. beer.
SOAD was making a pun, too. So they're in the same boat with Reg, not where she came up with it.

Is it just a coincidence that BYOS looks a lot like the word Boys? I think that's pretty funny.
SheltonSEmmaS 2 years ago
I like the subtle mix of melodies and lyrics from other songs.
For example: "I'm all shook up", and the melody at "My invitation said / Bring your own shovel" sounds like the melody from "My Favorite Things."

It sounds like that, doesn't it? But yeah, it's actually "Mata Hari", who was a real Dutch woman executed by firing squad.
Check out the entry on Wikipedia on her and you'll get the reference of her in this song.
