  • What is this guy name?

    Do he have a DVD?

    Please answer or PM

  • your videos are great

  • Found this video very helpful, needed to polish up on my hook's. Second month into muay thai, luvin it! Thanks again, take care :)

  • 1st - The "dude"is not getting hited hard, he's barely getting hited at all.

2nd - What about the right hook? not instructions? its not the same execute...

  • That is the right way to do a hook and boxer dont twist that way its the kickboxer that adopted that way of doing that hook why because it was a way to set up the rear round house kick to set it in postion to fire right back.

  • what the fucks he hitting the dude in the face for? does he not own striking pads?

  • there are many vids that says "muay thai training hooks" but people are commenting that they are boxing hooks.

  • @MuayThaiKid3000 haha look at urself

  • I have a question, not sure if it has been answerd. Ive watched alot of K1 and ive been doing MT for 3 months now in thailand. In MT they throw hooks where the knuckles line up horizontaly like Duke here, but it feels unatural and in k1 they throw hooks with the knuckels lining up vertically like you are doing the OK sign. Why isthat? what are the differences?

  • @saweet999 Just do what feels natural and if you have enough power, it won't matter. The reason for turning the palm downward is the angle of the knuckles complements the angle of the jaw (basically a more secure knockout).

  • @Ronnock true, but my coaches keep telling me it is wrong to throw with the vertical knuckles lol. but what ive seen with the traditional muay thai stance the hook with the knuckes lining horizontal, it is better to go around your opponents guard. can go around his arms and fist to hit the face. same with the right hook.

  • @saweet999 You're coaches aren't perfection (as are mine as well), so again it's all just preference. I've personally got more comfortable or at least, equally as comfortable throwing the "angled" knuckles (palm down) as I have been throwing the traditional hook. If you watch a lot of boxing knock outs ( as well as MMA) you'll see that a lot of them are the "angled" knuckles (palm down). It is a bit more of an advanced version of the hook and does take some time getting used to. Best of luck man

  • @Ronnock your are 100% correct, make total sence, i am getting used to it slowly slowly. thnx for the advice.

  • @saweet999 You're welcome man. Take care and train well.

  • @saweet999 the main reason for it is when u give a hook with ur knuckles vertically, there is a chance that you will hit with the inside of your glove and that will not give you points in a match, you might lose points with it. But hooking with ur knuckles horizontally can hurt at people who r beginners..

  • @ mexmtk why do you have your arms so far away from your body...it wont defense you...do you know about solar plexus ;D

if you get it one time...you will switch your arm position automatically...

just try to change it...it will be better for your health...just a tip ;)

  • nice tutorial there.but for traditional muay thai you have to stay light on your front foot

  • Duke has the best tutorials.

  • Thank you. This make so much sense and answered some questions I had.

  • fat boy ate some donuts

  • @abain13 that guy will knock you out with the hook.

  • @abain13 duke roufus aint a boy
