  • You did good Alex 15K for a workable Cheoy Lee. One of my favorite designs hope she sails well for you! I know what you mean about a job I figured I will have to do the same as I take on my adventure in the future and what doest cost dough?

  • Oh yeah, 15 sounds like you got a great deal!!! Get after it!! Get out there!!

  • You should try to find sponsors before going to find a job.

Most important is to do things that you like, because life is too short for doing things that you dont like.

  • I would have thought with your experience, you would have looked her over closer? Some things get looked at in an importance type of view. I have wondered since you got her what kind of a price was she? Must have been good as you have replaced the rigging but not noticed this? Since it isn't structural, you must have everything else up to snuff to be working on superficial stuff instead of getting out there!! I rub the belly of my 30 catalina everyday as I walk past her going to work.

  • I knew what I was getting into. We are only talking about taking a layer of paint & fairing compound off. It's hard to tell the condition of paint under the surface.. My rig came new with the boat the ins company paid 52k for everything from the chain plates up to be replaced. Masts, booms, all rigging, sails, furling and so on. The motor only has 800 hrs and I paid 15k for the boat. I think I'm doing okay :)

    Cheers mate.
