HORRIBLE CALL by the judge. She did not give the answer in one sentence. Contestants can't "piece" their answers together by rattling off every word that comes to mind....that's not how the game works. Simply saying "Barber" won't work and if she said "say" 14 seconds later to pair up "say-barber" isn't a win either. You'd have to say in one sentence "say {to a} barber", again you can't piece together your answer while rattling off answers.
The judge simply was not paying attention to the action onstage when the "ACTING FAMILIES" category was played. I think that the judge may have been a little too strict on this episode, particularly in the second Winners' Circle round (RE: "THINGS WITH A STRAP.")
I've watched this show all my life and I've never seen a case like this where saying two different parts of the answer at different times constitutes a "correct answer" but I guess we all learned something new about the rules. Great job by the contestants and the judge.
KRIO? is that a CBS affliate for those in Seattle...I have heard of KING that woman who does the noon news and messes up every single line while reading the news.
Am I the only one who thinks she doesn't deserve this win? If all Teresa had to get her to say say was actors, all she had to do was make a list of actors. This was specifically "Acting Families". That's a huge difference from "Actors".
She got it, no doubt in my mind! I heard her say "actors" AFTER she said family..she was still in the same train of thought. They didn't give her credit for "families," but she said ACTORS which is a form of ACT-ing, so, yes, she got it. :)
Totally the right outcome. That is a poor category since it has two "essences" to it. She had to say both "acting" and "families." Eventually, she did, but not together. So the judges remedied a bad clue by giving her credit when she said both independently.

Hey, I would have cried too - tears of massive joy for the unexpected win. That's awesome.

I have been watching this show off and on for years and until now I never knew the bonus round only required keywords.
At first I thought no, she didn't win, but when Dick said something about keywords I knew that yes, she was going to win.
I guess I learn something new every day!

Heck, they let her just say "Things that a man would...." for Men's Apparel....they should have given the acting one to her when she said "actors"

It was a good thing they reviewed the tape. Reviewing the details certainly did matter here.

Must you always be so negative?

I thought it was sweet how she apologized for crying tears of joy LOL... Bless her heart!

And I especially loved it when Teresa went up to her and kissed her on the cheek.

Bernie definitely deserved every penny of that $10,000 win. She actually said "actors" and "family", yet the judges didn't catch on it, though.

You are so right on that!!! I'm so pleased that she won the $10,000. Great outcome!
