  • "Organic tastes MUCH better" Yuh right. You can argue it might be better for the environment, the chicken, or the consumer (although there is precious little evidence any of that is true either). What you can NOT argue with any credibility is that organic "tastes better". That is utter nonsense and I'd bet on my mother's grave that this air-headed dingbat could not identify the "Organic" bird in a blind taste test if her life depended on it. The only fact is that organic costs more.

  • I don't think an organic chicken makes this recipe any better. I read somwhere that some grocers were marking certain food items organic when they weren't . So I really don't care and don't trust them. A chicken is a chicken is a chicken.

  • @usaearthling I am a cook and have tried both organic and non. Perhaps there is a 1% difference in taste depending on the amount of herbs, lemons, garlic, etc. Any fool who can can boil water can roast a chicken. The barefoot contessa;s recipe is (by far) the easiest, quickest and most delicious on the web, bar none.

    I grow organic but if all large combines went this way we'd (literally) starve due to greatly diminished quantity and the cost involved in extra labor.
