I think that John had good intentions for not participating in Queen+Paul Rodgers. Roger Taylor said that he could see why John didn't want to go on. So don't be mad at John for having respect for Freddie.

I'll tell you who: people that think that without the music of yesterday, music would still be the same. Example, one of my friends think that his mediocre Japanese artists like Asian Kung-Fu Generation would be the same without the likes of The Beatles, Elvis and AC/DC, and another friend that Linkin Park would be the same without psycedelic bands like Rush and (good) Techno/Electric bands like Depeche Mode.
