In cricket, the umpire decides when a player is out. When the opposing team appeals to the umpire for an "out" decision, they normally yell "HOWZAT!!!!!" while holding up their index finger. If the umpire decides the player is out, they signal it by holding their arm up and extending the index finger.

Here, they just changed the index finger for the middle :D (Hope that helps)
