when you say "we just wanna be normal"... don't you think the term queer is the idea that we don't want to be normal actually..? like meaning we don't want to fit the norm... usually heteronormative or even homonormative... what do you think ?
anyway I don't think this is dumb at all... you're smart! and... totally cute. ;)
@Amandinedinedine well i can't speak for anyone but myself, but for me, i don't want to be thought of as anything more/less than the next person. so by "normal" i just mean not an outcast or outsider or anything like that; i'm not really talking about being "normal" in terms of the gender/sexuality spectrum. good point though! and thanks!
I agree. If u wanna erase a line dividing u from others u don't go over it with a permanent marker. I'm straight but I think if u accept urself as a person not a gay person eventually ppl will stop seeing u like anything other than a person just and equal to them
I don't see what the obsession with "phases" is.. everything in life is a phase, even life itself, so of course it's a phase, I don't expect my sexuality to be exactly the same in 5 or 10 years from now, everything in life changes. the important thing is what your going through right now
This wasn't dumb at all, you were brilliant. I love it when you vlog! We have very similar opinions on this whole label schpiel, and quite a few other things you've vlogged about on your main channel. Great job! I hope to see you around again soon (granting someone needs a sub again)!
@EqualAndFree yeah a lot of parents are just ignorant and have a hard time understanding because of the changing times like i said. when they were kids, being gay was really taboo a lot of the time and just widely.. not accepted. so i can see why they're a bit troubled for sure.
you're totally right about the whole you should love just a person in general not what's in there pants BUT with your trans example ..that person whom is transitioning does change. their characteristics do change and the dynamic might change. and their attitude toward certain things and outlook on life is changed. ..that is why some girls who date transmen for example are put in a tough position because they fell in love with who that person was at a whole and things change.
@cautionslowchildren right so they wouldn't be breaking up with the person for any reason besides the fact that the person changed their personality. if they changed but identified as a girl still, they would still break up because of the personality. that's a good point though. transitioning does change people's personalities often.
Thank you for this video. As someone who was very confused about her sexuality, comments about how certain bisexuals are just pretending hurt me. My whole life I had never been attracted to a girl until my senior year of high school. Suddenly I was in love with a girl and I didn't know why. I certainly didn't do it for attention. When my parents found out about us they grounded me indefinitely and didn't let me leave the house alone. That's certainly not the kind of attention I wanted.
@AutonomousAutomaton Finally I was allowed to see her again as long as we were "just friends" which we pretended to be. We were still dating when I got to college and I didn't tell my roommate. Even when she clearly knew because I couldn't hide it, I still couldn't bring myself to say it. I guarantee you I was not looking for attention, even though my sexuality didn't make sense. Even though I wasn't sure I liked "girls" even though I liked that girl.
