In all honesty thats not modding anything, thats taking out things that do not need to be removed in the first place. This is just some kid removing things off his bike cause he thinks it will do something for it. Poor kid, you just don't know enough yet
@IrnMaiden304, it actually does improve the bike slightly, there ain't much you can do to a drz to make them faster but this will make the bike breathe better and does make the throttle response slightly crisper and is basically all you can do to improve these bikes without spending 250 bucks on a pipe. I actually no alot about bikes and i am now 16 and ride a 2002 kx250 and have been working on my own bikes for years, i made this video when i was 13. Refer to my newer videos.
keep it up, you were wrenching at 13, you will have a huge advantage over people twice your age.
just use a grammar program that can differentiate "no" and "know'.
but irnmaiden does have a point..
his point is, the airflow that concerns function is the diameter of the intake vs. fuel mixture, vs.everything
if you want more speed. go on a diet., reduce rotational weight (lightweight parts), and use a lower viscosity oil (thinner oil= faster moving parts).
@123ewq bull shit i have a kawasaki klx 125l i have a 190 bore on it exhaust and suspension and all different stuff that comess out to 800 dollars and it is faster and a better race bike then a crf150r
@TheBIGRED81, no it doesnt man, i've been riding my bike alll out at my house and it hasnt had any damage at all what so ever. I give the bike hell and it just keeps running, i might post a video of me doing a little riding at my house that i have some time soon.
do u leave the airfilter and top snorkle out and the screen out so there is nothing in there or do just keep the screen out and put the filter back in
eh ya font know if you know that now all junk that goes in your air box goes in your motor any way not to good trick to get mote power unles you dont care about your dirt bike cuz your gona blow the engin
will u please make a video of your stock air filter and the kn filter for me please i might get one soo please are they worth it please make the video
i was going to do this mod for my air box on my drz 125 but my bike already like pops when u slow down from to much air or fuel or something. but will i lose power as it already is running lean or will it screw the bike up a lot
when u remove the snorkle how much of an increase does it give it like low rpm or high does it make it top out better run cooler anything like that. i also have a problem with my bike running very hot would this help a little.
crank up the volume!!! ha, i might increase it a tiny bikt, the best way to get more would be to get a 1 tooth larger front sprocket since the bike stock is geared way to low.
I'mpretty sure its a spark arrester screen to make sure your engine doesn't back fire and like, light your filter up but i highly doubt it will. I've been running my bike without it for about a year now.
yeah but mate, when you take out the snorkel and the air filter, doesn't that bung everything up? coz when i get home from races i clean my air filter and it is full of crap
oh and i didnt mean small i meant big another typo im sorry and uh ya here ya go ''im not positive i think 5mph and the best idea is go for a 250 a 230 might not be a good idea its the same size as the 125 where i live.....and he said you can adjust the rear shock to highten it i say give the bike a chance how tall are you im 5ft7 and its still big for me and thats stock height or i think its stock height
im not positive i think 5mph and the best idea is go for a 250 a 230 might not be a good idea cause its the same size as the 125 where i live ..... and he said you can adjust the rear shock to highten it i say give the bike a chance how tall r u im 4ft7 and its still small for me and thats stock hight
how much speed do you gain by doing this. My dad got me my first dirtbike but i didnt know the drz125l would be too small for me and i dont want to break it to my dad. So im gonna wait a year then ask for a ttr230, but for now im wondering how much speed i will gain
so what youre saying is if i get that bike and try to race it i lost but if i took it to race the beginners class im more like amature to like low amature i might have a chance at winning
ur probably annoyed by all these questions by now but do u think that if this bike had a new pipe ,re jetted, and air box mods will it have any chance versing the rm 125 or is it seriously the bike is as good as the rider
i don't think it would really be all that close to a 125 2 stroker. The first mod i would do to the drz would be buy a 1 tooth larger front sprocket because it is geared so low stock. With these mods it might be competitive to a 85 (those things rip!), but like they always say, its the rider not the bike.
kk cool ya i did check the bbr the only thing is idk if im guna like the diference in riding and if its worth the money i think i could deal with the rough riding in the races but i would like the better preformance and im on a budget so im only guna have enough money for the fmf pipe
hey are there any other modifications u can make without buying new parts? and if there is do u think u could make a video on how to do it? do u know how to take the baffle off because i cant get myne off. make a video of it plaes.
i know you can buy heavy duty (bbr) front fork springs to reduce bottoming and on the L model it comes with an adjustable rear shock so you can set it up for your weight. Idk about pro ones though.
ok idk if im guna do that for my tho ill think about it im guna do summer races its guna be fun im either guna get an 09 or 07 and just modify it and is it posible to buy racing shocks u know the heavy duty pro ones and put it on this bike
the yz85 is better than the kx85. The ttr125L is better right out of the box than the drz125L but if both bikes are modded(drz and ttr), the drz is going to be faster. I'm pretty sure that the drz125L is more reliable than a ttr125L. If you get a 85 2 stroke they have much more maintnance (mix the fuel, new pistons, heads etc.) then a 125 4 stroke bike. On a 125 all you have to do is change the oil from time to time. However, yes, an 85 will be faster than a 125.
What happens when I take the spark arrestee out?? Will it kiil my bike??

u take out parts and it makes it better? another question if you do that and jet the bike will it be considered cheating in races
xxLEETHATERxx 2 years ago
yeah, some parts in the bike might actually slow it down. For example, the snorkel in the airbox just restricts the air flow.
I highly doubt that taking those few, little parts out will be considered "cheating" in a race.
