Personally I see the Bible can be interpreted in many ways...as a new Christian, I am still looking into both sides of the argument.But I can tell you that I do take the Bible has something literal in the sense that I don't believe the stories are metaphorical or something like that.

@andthereisntone Yes, he did believe and God tested to the extreme now in telling him to sacrifice his son-whom he dearly loved.It was a test of faith to see if God was more important to Abraham than everything else-and he passed.Issac never ended up being sacrificed.I believe this was foreshadowing the advent of Christ in which, like in this story, God provided the sacrifice on his own.

@andthereisntone Yes, he did believe and God tested to the extreme now in telling him to sacrifice his son-whom he dearly loved.It was a test of faith to see if God was more important to Abraham than everything else-and he passed.Issac never ended up being sacrificed.I believe this was foreshadowing the advent of Christ in which, like in this story, God provided the sacrifice on his own.
I believe murder would be worst but nevertheless-it's all sin.

It is even stated in the Holy Quran about how a christian king in Ethiopia saved perhaps the first Islam messangers to Africa. My point is our difference is not too big to make us kill one another.
