  • I enjoyed watching this even if it is 4 years old. Some say you have to use a tension meter to do this. It would appear you don't. What are your finished prints like please?

  • Does this guy sound really patronising or is it just me?

  • i will catch y"all later hahaha funny

  • You have to love the 99 cent store. I might cheat and buy a wood frame from the 99 cent store too. Thanks for the video.

  • A quick tip for stretching the screen evenly: if you've ever stretched canvas, the process is basically the same. Staple the top center of the screen, then the bottom center, then the left center, then the right. Then continue one staple to the right, then the left, etc. The key is to get the staples parallel for an even amount of tension.

  • what is the mesh count and what is the name of the curtin matiral

  • this is impossible or im a rape victim?

  • How did you know what kind of quality mesh it was?

  • I'm not a pro silk screen shop and don't need quality. I needed a screen that will work for a short run of shirts. Several years later I'm still using it!

  • I did not know. It's an amateur screen with low cost that works great.

  • You should see my video.

  • This video gets a lot of views. Wild 99 cent store curtain screen! Check out my videos for tutorials on screen printing and heat transferring tee shirts. Questions welcome.

  • where can i get the silk ?

  • I did not use silk. I used curtains from the 99 cent store. You can look up silk screen or screen printing in the yellow pages to find supplies.

  • any craft or fabric stire! micheals,or somewhere eles!

  • It's pretty clear on the video what to do. Try it, it's not hard.

  • The thing is you said stretch the screen material right? I made my own Frame of wood and when you say stretch it, I was wondering how you keep the mesh tight and neat all round?

  • Nice video by the way, but when I staple the mesh onto the board, wouldn't the sides be uneven because one side might be tighter than the other side?

  • I did not have problems with unevenness. Not real sure what you mean "uneven"? You can buy a screen already framed if you can't make one.

  • you said that your friend uses smaller pieces of screen for other things like glass............please do a video....Im trying to do my own mugs! But I cant figure out how to do a screen or something for the mug to lay in?!??? Please help

  • She uses the finished screen on her mugs without a frame. Just lay your silkscreen on the mug or anything and squeegee the ink on. You may want to cut the surrounding screen bigger than your subject or mug so you don't get ink on it in the wrong place.. I would use a frame to make the screen and then cut it off and use it without a frame. You can buy frame less silkscreen online that's ready for your art. It may be hard to design and build a frame that fits a mug....but it should be do-able.

  • Some amazing home techniques are here on YouTube. Very cool. Check out my how to videos on screen printing. I explain a more commercial process to print shirts but it teaches about how it is done to make money.

  • what material you use ???

  • Please read all the comments to find your answer.

  • I didnt catch where you got the screen material. did you say curtain material, and is it real silk or synthetic?

  • thanks for the vid but u dont show how to get this and how much...

  • you have no idea how much this has helped!! thank you!!!

  • haha thanks. this vid was informative.

  • Im a 15 year old girl and i dont have all the nifty screwing kills you do. I really love all of my friends so i figures out how to make a screen from a picture frame!

the woods all put together. Installing the screen is the tricky part i have some special cardboard that holds it in place.

This is some hardcore diy im doing here.

  • haha screwing skills

  • thanks!

  • Man your stuff is really great...i bought a home kit..that supposedly had everything..now im running here and there to get all the other items..but to sum it up..there are a lot of companies on here that has videos..and they are supposed to be the expert..i wanted to let you know..you do a great job of showing how simple it is..and with your videos..i feel like i have just sat through a whole seminar of screen printing. Good Job. Jermaine of Hankerson Photography.

  • where did you get the silk screen from?

  • Yes that screen if cut from curtains I purchased at the dollar store. It works great. If you're having trouble finding out what you need go to a fine art store and look at some screen material first. Then try dollar or discount stores for the cheep stuff in the window covering area.

  • what can you use for a cheap glue for filling in the stencil?? what about the "drawing fluid" as well, that can be washed out for better accuracy?

  • curtain material from the 99 cent store is that correct? wow!

  • Thanks that you really helped
