  • iii burned my foooot =/

  • 6.38 am * challenge accepted face*

  • do u think u can make me wolf paws and feet please thats all i need and where did u get the fur from homedepo

  • Where did u get the claws? I kinda need em, cuz I used sculpt and they get all scraped up. (and ya, ur video helped a BUNCH!!!)

  • once again lllooovvveee it!

  • i was gonna say... on the clock it was 9/11... this was a great tutorial! and we get to burn ourselves with hot glue! YAY~!

  • I didnt quite catch that, what did you use to cut the claws for the hands, a dremel tool?

  • thanks, your videos are great.

  • What about the tail +love it good job

  • i did not know you could make somthing...that looks so incredibly awesome in such simple ways....i though you had to use months on sewering it in every possible way...but no....hot glue and foam....i am so much gonna make a cubone costume!

  • I love how you made the hand paws with only 4 fingers instead of 5. It made it look a lot better in my opinion.

  • @wolfwarrior19 you can hot glue it, I guess. :-/

  • i luv ur vids

  • Thank you SO MUCH Riley. Working on my first cosplay is funny because I want to finish by halloween and feetpaws for my Mightyena had me lost XD

  • how do you make the body?

  • Oh. My. God. This is SO much better/cheaper/easier to follow than other tutorials. I'm making a fursuit (German Shepherd) and I'm getting the stuff for the head and feet today. Maybe it'll be done by Halloween lol. I did the tail and glove-sleeves yesterday, so it's going well so far. Thank you SO MUCH for making this!

  • Thanks so much! This really helps! I might just get a glove and stick fur to it XD

  • man ur so crazy riley lol but i love u guys lol.

i made mah dragon tail yesterday at like 9 in the morning and finished around 10 but then again i have the halves cut out and half glued together soooo yah. all together the tail pry took me about like pfft idk like: 3 hours

  • really great work, this is really gonna help me with my fursuit.

i was thinking of using sandals instead of running shoes, and maybe expanding spray foam instead of the upholstery foam, since its more easily aquireable in my area, and i can shape it easier since its more rigid. would all my plans work or am i just crazy?

  • hey, where did you get the white fur? i'm making an all white cat fursuit and i can't find ANY decent white fur! D:

    Date : 9-11= bombing

    Time : 3.14= Pi

  • @UmbreonArt I see what you did there. xD

  • @UmbreonArt oh god I didn't even realize! |D

It must mean something... We're probably all doomed

  • this should help me alot..

  • So you can sow the fur on the shoes? Wich is eaiser gluing or sowing with the shoes?

  • wish I had the patience and skill to do all of that D:

  • wonderful toutorial. must be easy for you to make the hand paws with that sewing machine... i have to hand sew my fursuits entirely ( which is very easy but time consuming and boring )

  • Wwooooww is the best tutorial :D awesome

  • @animation906 you mean PAWSOME right?

  • Where would i get the fur from? I wanna start making fur suits, but i dont know where to get fur from.

  • @TheDemonicbadger Good luck! ^^

  • @TheDemonicbadger good luck! u will do great!!

  • how do you put the fur on the hand paws or do you like hot glue them or sew it

  • @trackerthewolfdog You sew them like a pair of gloves

  • @CanineHybrid on feetpaws its hot glues right??

  • u stayed up to 3 wen u had classes later that day D: what convention were u gettin ready for 0.o

  • @newfurr Nan Desu Kan in Denver, Colorado

  • @CanineHybrid Omg! I'ma gonna be there! i hope to see you there!

  • where do i buy one of those lightsabers? o.o

oh yeah and nice tutorial x3

  • @wiiconsole2 We bought this one at Radio Shack years ago :) The convention was Nan Desu Kan in Denver, Colorado

  • Where can you find foam?

  • @webkinzrocks2104 Fabric/craft stores, automotive repair, and upholstery supply/repair.

  • can u show how to find ruber soles for the feet paws?

  • @llclark2005 Automotive stores are your best bet. I've also cut up an exercise mat thing used to protect the floor for placing a treadmill on top of it.

  • Thanks 4 the tutorial ^^

  • where did you get the black claw-talons for the feet?

  • @665885 grayowlcrafts[dot]com

  • was that music from oblivion in the beginning of the vid?

  • @LuchadoreBob Indeed it was XD

  • What do I see?????? A DeviantArt shirt????????

  • @MichaelCapelle That indeed you do *eyebrow waggle*

  • ha i cant read

  • just a tip, try using 'terrifically tacky tape' to attack the fur, I found it works great and doesin't come off easily, and it works tons better then hot glue. depending on what kind of shoe you are using you can use just the tape, and not have to sew near as much. unless of course you prefer that x3 ~ Lyko

  • @Vixzie Interesting, I'll have to try that!

  • @jonathan0322 Thanks, I prefer to sew my feet together now instead of relying on hotglue :3

  • @CerokaProductions I cut a slit through the fur and the foam to allow the claws to poke through

  • @happyrockybunny I love my DA shirts, I've got 3 of them so far :3 deviantART has been my homebase for almost 6 years, so yes I definitely I go on it. My username is CanineHybrid (I just gave you a llama, muahaha) Good luck on your fursuit if you ever decide to start it!

  • So, the fur for the feet-paws are just glued on?

  • @ShadowResearcher Yup. Though I highly recommend sewing it together and then using hotglue as needed

  • i use the same glue for my glue gun i love it! i love the tutorial!

  • Wow, Just....Wow. You're AMAZING!!! I plan to make a fursuit sometime eventually.....but I first need money...and supplies....and time.....and for me to quit procrastinating...but anyway! I see you have a DA shirt! What's your username??? Mines Lucariofan1996 and well, I'll be sure to refer to this if i ever get the chance to make a fursuit.....

  • @LucaRioluFan1996 Thanks so much! Haha, doesn't that happen to us all? XD You sound just like me.

Yes I do have a DA! It's probably my favorite site on the internet and I've been a member for almost 6 years now <3 My username is CanineHybrid (I gives you a llama, bwhahaa) Good luck to you, I hope you do in fact find a way around it all to actually get stared on one!

  • What is the best way to trim fur?

  • @Dawni32 You can trim it with normal scissors like you're at a barber shop or use any hair-styling tools like razor blades for feathering :3

But the best way is to use a pair of electric trimmers/clippers/shavers. I personally use a pet hair clippers, a cheapish model from a brand called Wahl, though people-hair clippers work just as well... there's no noticeable difference.

  • just wanna make some now. "I roundhouse you with my footpaw!"

    I lovez the collar!

  • I've heard handpaws are uber itchy, is there a way to get rid of the itchyness? or should you just wear gloves underneath? if so, does it get really hot in the handpaws?

  • @KittyTheNinja Yes, they can be itchy depending on what kind of material the backing of the fur is made out of; shorter pile furs tend to be softer, but it all depends on the quality of the fur, materials, and what your skin will react to. I have no problem with itchiness personally. Wearing gloves will definitely help any itchiness and absorb sweat, but yes that will create more heat. It depends on how breathable the fabric and the gloves are.

  • hrrmmm, in addition to short term hot glue you may want to add a bit of glue thats bonds polystyrene and plastic to get a bettter long term hold while the hot glue lets it cure... (be careful about the glue though or else you could have a pile of slag where your foam was XD)

  • @silverd20 This is true, that really could be useful. The most common glues used in costumes with upholstery foam besides hot melt adhesive is spray adhesive... but I'd be curious to see what other lightweight glues would bond well. Do you know of any?

  • Pawsome... oh and you have a devianart shirt sIcK.... XD nice job..

  • How do you make the hands all the way up to the sholders?

  • @deathwolfgirl There are different ways to do this: either take lots of measurements of your arm length and width, or have someone help you create a duct-tape dummy of your arm to use as a pattern. I will cover this in my new paws tutorial coming out hopefully by this Halloween.

  • Wow, I've been watching youtube videos for the past hour trying to get ideas on how to make my suit and so far this was the best one for bothsets of paws. Thanks for the detail and planning and the ideas.

  • @skaternick93 You're very welcome! I'm glad my video was able to help you out. I will be making a lot more covering how to do a suit from start to finish eventually, so I hope you keep an eye on my channel for future updates. Good luck with your project! :3

  • if i could ask would u make one to sell? plz reply

  • @MrMovieMaker2542 Yes, I will be soon taking commissions to make custom costumes and parts. I hope to have this information ready by October this year, but it may be pushed to January 2011.

  • What size sewing machine needle do you use to sew the fur?

  • @huskywolflover I don't use any special needles when I'm sewing fur vs any other type of fabric... unless they keep breaking (usually do to timing issues and hitting the plate or a pin). I may switch to a thicker needle as needed, but it really depends on what your sewing machine can handle. Those darn things are so picky :3

  • nice, how long time did you use?

  • @TheNorwegianFurry It took me 10 hours to make these paws, though your question was a bit unclear so I hope I gave you the answer you were looking for!

  • What if I'm not doing a fur suit? I want to either be a Leafeon (yours was fantastic :]) or a Glaceon, but in a gijinka costume. Do you think this would be too bulky? Or do you have a different idea for me to use?

  • @RavenGoesRawr My Leafeon paws were done in a very similar method to the one featured in the video, so if you like the way those paws looked for a Gijinka, then why not? I should think it just fine.

  • Nice tutorial ;) The Handpaws are looking sooo cute ^^

  • ur work is great!

  • Would it be possible to give a further tutorial on how you did the hand paws? They turned out great but i didn't get a concept of how to do them properly, save for the claw application.

  • @Darkiesmistress I'm re-doing this tutorial to better explain how to do handpaws, because I agree with you... I REALLY rushed through it. I hope to have it up before Halloween.

  • this is the most helpfull vid ive seen yet!

  • cute love ur hand paws!

  • yes i agree it is very time consuming wen gluing the shoes^^; it took me ages with my tails costume

  • you didnt explain how u made the paws...did u use foam inside to make it big? and hat do u recomend more for a better look...4 fingers or 5?

  • @Drake3498 Yeah, I'm gonna re-do this tutorial with an HD camera eventually so I hope to cover how to do it a bit better. When you say paws I donno if you mean the hands or feet... the feet were covered in part one. The hands are simply an exaggerated tracing of your hand applied to fabric. (good idea to make a test pattern out of scrap fabric first). The hands I did not use any foam inside them. 4 fingers is more animal-like, 5 looks more natural and is more comfy. I like both :3

  • @CanineHybrid

lol then lets both invent the 4 and a half finger paw...confy AND awesome looking LAWL >:D btw i was talking about the hand paws...i need more info on making one cuz im about to get my first fur fabric soon and i dont wana loose it cuz im stupid...thats why im getting a sewing machine cuz i dont even know how to sew LOL!

  • I can't thank you enough for an awesome and very helpful instructional video! I plan to make brand new walrus foot flippers soon using foam, and I am totally in the dark about what to do or how to do it. Your video was an EXCELLENT springboard, and if you see a walrus at any future furry conventions, be sure to stop and say hello, as he's sure to be VERY thankful for your help! :-D

  • @svankmaj Wow, a walrus costume!? :D Yes, I would totally love to see that! You're very welcome for the tutorial, I'm so glad it was able to help you get started.

  • I need to find out what material people use to make the eyes so you can actually see where you're going TT^TT

  • @loupgaroux1011 Buckram, chiffon, or aida cloth works for the eyes ^^

  • I'm having difficulty making my hands. Any tips on making the paws large and toony? I can't trace my hand large enough AND have room between fingers...

  • I'm making footpaws while following this video. It's been insanely helpful! I love you guys. :D Thanks for helping a fellow fur~

  • i'm so freaking inspired now, thank you!! awesome tutorial

  • YOUR A GOD!

  • I'am loving that oblivion music!

  • I thought it was familiar as well lol

  • Nice.

  • thankyou!

  • when i start to make my feet, this is gonna be the tutorial i will use. IT IS AWESOMERTASTIC!!!

  • What kind of foam did you use for the feet? And how squishy is it?

  • @GirlKirbyZombie Upholstery foam, high density. It's very squishy since its normal use is in chair and couch cushions.

  • ..and he is also a jedi!

  • cooooooooollllllll

  • lawl, i second ur opinion on the glueing of the fur!

i used ur tutorial to make the feet for my wolf,Chi, and it worked BRILLIANTLY!!

hopeing to make the hand-paws next!! thank u sooooo much for doing this tutorial!

    ^^

  • @TwilightWolf222 Yey, I'm so glad this was able to help you :D Thank you for your comments and using my tutorial!

  • luv the DeviantART shirt :D

  • Perhaps my fursona (Kayte the anthro rough collie) can meet Darth Kai in battle someday. She owns a purple light saber, like Mace Windu!

  • Fantastic, the best tutorial i have ever seen! But where can i get the claws from online? And can i use Ugg boot style shoe for the feetpaws?

  • u kno i was just looking for a tutorial on how to make a wolf tail and there were none so i was wondering if u could make one it would be verry helpful to me

  • i agree. i tried making a tail from a black halloween cat tail i got from halloween express, by putting white fur on it (Arctic fox) but it did NOT turn out good at all. so i have to do it all over again and find a tutorial.. D:

  • omg thank you i am going to be making my first fursuit and im realy excited this tutorial was realy helpful thank you

  • omg, its the hardest way made a furry feet

  • 10 hours for the feet? holy crap. how long was the work for the whole fursuit? (sorry, my english is very bad ^^")

  • so im makn a fursuit i started out with the head first nd its my first try its slowly turining out ok but i have alot to go i see your using tennis shoes would u say there beter or could i possibly use converse?

  • great vid!

wat shoes would u advise r best, or could u use any??

  • @TwilightWolf222 Most any shoe will work. I've been using board shoes a lot but normal tennishoes, boots, etc are fine. Flip flops/sandals will need more foam so you can build up a shoe form around it. I've even seen people use Crocs before! Some shoes don't work well with hot glue (rubber parts especially) and you may need to use shoeglue or something strong like that.

  • where did u get ur foam me and my dad r trying to make my first fursuit and we cant seem to find foam plz reply!!!!

  • @selleste98 Upholstery foam is found at most fabric stores. Other places to look is online of course, upholstery supply places (chair and couch repair), or even automotive/boat repair.

  • @CanineHybrid ok thank you so much! :D do you still Ustream? :o

  • thankyhoo soooo much for this i would have never know how to do this without your video xD

  • AHH!! i recognise you!! these videos are so helpfull! i seen you at NDK denver ^.^

  • Cool, I would prefer a design where the paw is tighter, also, you should try the high heels style and post it up

  • Love the way you made yours, I'm just gonna be really careful with the hot glue gun. XD.. It should be done in... a few days .. In time for Halloween, Muahaha!!

Have fun, I know I will. >:D Spike.
