  • Qigong or (Chi Gong) is an internal art focusing on the study and practice of the breath and how your breath is directly correlated with the bodies over all circulation, health and well-being. With gentle exercise in harmony with movement and breath and the focus of QI circulating through the body.

  • Bullshit too mutch protine & strroid !!! Where the fuck is the qi gong ????

  • these guys should be Shaolin priest. because they are stronger than a monk.

  • Zen is a Japanese sect of Buddhism. It's derived from the Chinese, Chen sect. Shaolin is yet another Chinese sect of Buddhism.

  • I have this DVD and it is excellent, the warm up isn't for the inflexible, but the qigong itself could be practiced by anyone

  • He looks like a bodybuilder disguised as a shaolin monk!!!

  • @rx7ownsyou hes the real deal

  • There have been numerous post asking for the name of this song. If anyone has any clue to the Artist or song please respond. Us music lovers are dying here!!!

  • Such a beautiful video. If anyone knows the sound track please post the details.

  • I like its simplicity; most Qigong styles are grandiose and pretentious.

  • gung fu means a hability developed through practice

  • autant de force et de douceur dans un même video, ca me fait tellemet sentir petite

  • hes the best martial monk i ever seen. Nothing but respect. Hes indeed a true shaolin martial master

  • damn, never really noticed how buff the shaolin are, or anyone who trains in shaolin.

  • @MightySunTzu most shaolin are not as built as this, it's not about muscles, if you think shaolin is about big muscles you've missed the point. (but i am far from expert). I am only on my first stage of chi gong so i'm not sure my art is thai boxing

  • @akitta01 ...ok lemme rephrase, i never really realized how toned the shaolin are... happy? ty for the comment though, good reminder to choose my words more wisely. thai boxing is kinda weird, its kinda like tae kwon do in that it was only designed in order to hurt others, whereas qi gong practices and tai chi chuan was designed to help strengthen and protect the body as well as healing practices and better overall health practices in every day movement and wtc. and so on and so forth.

  • @MightySunTzu thai boxin as it's chi gong, training (well hard qi) my shins will bank that cheque..! Your right about it being mainly to hurt others, it is proberbly the most effiencent form for getting the job done...!! i still practice internal qi aswell and meditate (all helps)..! and i bet all shaolin monks are defined to the max under their robes, so ur comm ad some merit

  • @akitta01 yah, i really like thai boxing because if you train in it it really toughens up ur shins, knees, and elbows, and makes you train in the kicks for better balance when kicking. i like tae kwon do because you get to jump in the air and do amazing acrobatics kicks, art of flying for the win. but tai chi chuan is my favorite because you can practise any art while keeping perfect form and still have it be tai chi. plus thai boxing is much more brutal on your body over time, bad for old ppl.

  • Nagyon szeretnék én is ilyet csinálni!

  • It's nice to see someone with a body that shows he has put in some hard work into his training.

  • holy shit, this is a theatre made of the yi jin jing

  • He is not a monk, he is a disciple, big difference. There are no real Shaolin monks in the UK, my master is from the Shaolin Temple and he doesn't call himself a Shaolin monk

  • Does anyone know what the music is???

  • this is learly chi gong but it looks nothing like any badaunjin i have ever seen and i have seen to many all be it un relieable

  • naraku, soy is not terrible just in high amounts males should not consume it as it lets say you drink protein shakes you should not be intaking 100g of soy protein, goggle testosterone and soy, or testosterone and soy

  • tomsshoeler, thank you foro confirming what i said i know a lot about sport nutrition and there is not way this guy looks like this out of tofu and vegan diet. yes lentis and beans and tofu might be good for you but they are not complete proteins and could never provide with the amount needed to get build like this. aslo for those of you who love your soy. too much is terrible for you. specially if you are a man, soy is estrogenic and bad for males and your prostate

  • This is not a flame, just being curious since my GF is a vegy and we eat a lot of soy. I only know of articles saying that soy prevents prostate cancer and certain forms of baldness.

On topic my everlasting respect to shifu yan lei. He is a perfect example of dedication.

  • Man you need schooling. First the whole you need meat for protein is so last century. Best quality protein is quinoa a south american grain. Pound for pound tofu is far better protein ie more complete amino acids. than meat. Also tofu is not bad for your prostate. It contains phyto- estrogens which lock into estrogen receptors in the body but with little power and so reduce the body's own receptivity to estrogen. No effect on males but very positive effects on females.

  • Also if you combine amino acid groups from various veg sources you can gain all nutritional requirements without taxing the liver (better energy levels) Just look at IBF cruiser-weight champion Vassiliy Jirov or two-time WBC middleweight world champ

Keith Holmes both of whom are vegan. Or Stan Price for that matter, world weight lifting champ for bench press, another veggie. You been schooled.

  • yeah but tofu's horrible, don't forget the only reason meat sucks now is cause its not real. that why its so bad for you.

  • eskiveliko I am all about eating a balance diet. But i cant stand to see sickly vegans claim how healthy their diet is when they are weak and look sick. you dont have to be a doctor to see how sick looking vegans look. if humans were not meant to eat protein how come we are able to digest it and have K9 teth

  • you can be healthy and vegan so long as you are smart which most vegans are not

  • He does eat meat, he was interviewed in 'Combat' magazine where he's been doing articles recently. He said that he does eat meat, but tries to eat more greens and other veg for a balanced diet

  • It is not about muscles! Is about breathing and focusing energy, their power don't come from thier muscles, como from within, spirit, will and pure energy.

  • agree, but he has really nice muscles also!

  • @rodrigoaragon Your muscles have everything to do with it, when you're using your muscles you're using chi, everything you do is using chi, your just not aware of it.

  • @rodrigoaragon message!!

  • Beautyfull techniek Hei Gong

  • shifu yan lei is my teacher and is the uk's leading master in kung fu and gi gong and he lives up to the name shifu, shifu puts his heart and soul into training us and his hard chi gong skills are un mached much respect

  • What does Qi Gong mean?

  • it means "power healing using energy of body" doing the excercises can prove more effective than western medication and drugs

  • Thanks alot!!

  • It literally means "energy work".

  • wow this guy must be eating some protein thats the most built monk ive seing i bet his not on a strick budhist vegetarian diet

  • No,allot of the monks look as physically strong as him,He's a zen buddhist so he wont eat meat

  • Then how he get so big without protein? Maybe he lifts weights?

  • They have a exercise that they practice called "muscle changing classic"

  • Are you telling me I can get this big if I don't eat meat and do his exercises? I want to be a vegetarian but am afraid of losing my muscles.

  • Hell yeah.Have you tried qi gong yet? It gives you an awesome amount of energy.you seen the other monks from the shaolin temple? They do NOT eat meat but you have to remeber the monks train from 6 in the morning to 10 at night all day everyday

  • No I never took any martial arts class. Can you recommend a good Qi Gong DVD? Thx

  • You dont need a dvd just yet, search for this video "a shaolin temple deciple at your office" the guy in this video teaches you an easy 3 minute chi gong exercise and if you do it correctly you will be amazed at what it does to your body and mind.Try it

  • or you can just look in my favorites ive been doing it for 1 wek and i feel like i have been reborn or somthing lol

  • Well you do know monks eat Tofu, tofu is not meat and it is made with soy bean. As well it is PACKED with protein and nutrients and is good for the health. If you want to keep your muscles eat your tofu.

  • yes monks eat tofu but he is a martial monk, big difference...

  • martial monks/ Shaolin monks can't eat meat either. the tofu thing is kinda a joke anyways lol.

  • There are plenty of ways to get protein Eat lots of beans.

  • there are a lot of vegetarian meals that give you more protein than meat. Integral rice mixed with chickpea, it gives you more protein than meat, dont listen physicians, they do not tell the truth.

Lentils, cereal like oats, all kind of beans, always mixed with integral rice,

    walnuts, almonds, peanuts, banana,

avocado, dont be afraid, your muscles will improve in quality, stronger and more flexible. Your mind will be more clear too. Best regards.

  • @TheOverfiendDj Actually, Shaolin Warrior Monks are allowed to eat meat.

  • @SijoJay i'll take your word for it

  • @TheOverfiendDj Two factors, Emperor Li of the Tang Dynasty relieved the Warrior Monks from their vows to abstain from meat and alcohol, due to 13 monks who saved his life, also the extremely rigorous training that Warrior Monks endure requires them to need more protein than vegetables provide. Also, Shaolin monks are the only sect of Buddhist monks allowed to practice Kung Fu. Have a good one!

  • @SijoJay ummm im pretty sure Monks arent Buddhist for the emperor or any dynasty for that matter. you dont take precepts because a king says so. its alot deeper than that.

  • @crabbit87 Before you think you have gained intellect, make sure you really have acquired it. As a True student of Martial Arts, I have studied much history, manners, and customs. So I will appease your ignorance slightly, seeing that you haven't the mental capacity to research the information. Sifu Shi Yan Meng is one source. Since you are so deep in your arrogance, you can deeply search the internet for confirming references. I swear, youtube is a magnet for idiots, who think they know it all!

  • @SijoJay Sources please

  • @SijoJay well not exactly some are vegetarian but they are not required to be also some Tibetan schools practice martial arts and i don`t think any school forbids it as such many just don`t alow it to be put into practice the same way

  • @yamiyomizuki as far as diet, I am speaking about warrior monks. As far as Tibetan schools, we are discussing Buddhist temples, not martial art schools. There might be a recent rebirth in Tibetan Kung Fu practice, but most of the Tibetan styles have been kept alive in southern China and those descended from there. My statement is based on written literature from Shaolin Warrior Monk Sifu Shi Yan Meng, as well as historical documents.

  • @SijoJay i am also speaking of warior monks and my statment is based on what i have been told in person by warior monk Sifu Patrick Faness who was studied under Ito Koboyashi and others at the Shaolin temple in Belgium and is the first non Asian to be trained at Shaolin temple

  • @yamiyomizuki It is very rare indeed that foreigners (Non-Chinese) be allowed to train within Shaolin Temple, which is why some warrior monks actually have schools outside of the temple in DengFeng city, not to mention the Chinese Government forbids Shaolin temple to accept foreign students. It is equally rare that Shaolin Temple would accept a Japanese into its hallowed courts, referring to "Ito Kobayashi". A person I can find no historical data on except his mention from "Sifu Patrick Faness".

  • @yamiyomizuki What strikes most odd about this Ito Koboyashi, is Sifu Patrick Fannes claims him to be a warrior monk, I highly doubt the probability of a non Chinese being an actual Warrior Monk of Shaolin Temple.

  • @SijoJay his family moved to china when he was very young

  • @TheOverfiendDj well that is not true, this guy is outside the shaolin temple, so he would be considered a layman monk they are allowed to eat meat and drink beer.

  • @Consciouslivingbiz Being allowed to doesnt mean he does

  • @TheOverfiendDj It is obvious he is. If you don't believe me ask him, I'll tell something else that is obvious to me, but not to you or the untrained eye, he is not even a monk. Just because you went to the shaolin temple and trained doesn't make you a monk. People always act like being a monk makes you special but it doesn't it's a life path just like yours. You are special just the way you are, just as Sifu Yan Lei is, he doesn't have to be a monk to be good at what he does.

  • @Consciouslivingbiz im allowed to drink but i dont

  • @TheOverfiendDj Well that is good for you, I'm not saying he does either, but he does eat meat. After I made that comment I did some research, to make sure I wasn't talking out my butt. I was right he is not a monk, he is married and has kids, although he has been training at the shaolin temple and other temples since he was very young.

  • @Consciouslivingbiz I meditate also but doesnt that mean im a Yogi? No.

  • @TheOverfiendDj Ok, I don't understand what you mean by that. Will you explain?

  • @Consciouslivingbiz Im just being silly.I agree with everything you say.I love meditation its an amazing stress relief.

  • gr8

  • Would really like to know what the song is called. It's in all Shifu Yan Lei's videos.

  • buhdism is a religion. because of the icon buhda, the religion has a strong foundation in its worriors funding.

on the other hand, Taoism has 9 ancestors instead of a god. i follow the DaoDe jing.

  • Gung-Fu translates to "Achievement Man". You don't need to excel in fighting to be a Gung-Fu master. You can be a Gung-Fu master in Driving, or a Gung-Fu Master in baking... The point is, no matter what you study, you go beyond and above of what is necessary to achieve your goal, to master "the" skill. You don't need Buddhism; you need a strong work ethic, heart and passion. Be #1 in all areas of your life that is the Gung-Fu mans Anthem.

  • @1ToNJaB I don't mean to show you up, but a more proper translation to the concept of "Kung Fu" is that of "acquired savant skill."

  • @1ToNJaB wow I didint know that thanx for that info you really helped me with it

  • @1ToNJaB that is wat i try to tell people and when joe rogan a guy from ufc said kung fu nonsense he basically said all achievements by men are nonsense including the achievement of his precious mma fighters, i like mma just not all people associated with it. Of course when kung fu made men ur above women so it only said men achievement.

  • Buddhism is not a religion. The Western world believe that this is a religion, I don't think this is true... its more of a philosophy. Buhda never claimed to be god, he never asked the world to believe in a god, nor did he say not to believe. Seek the truth.

  • AWESOME!

  • thanks well filmed and wonderfull to see..

  • What is the name of the song in the background?

  • iceinfire95 beautifully said. It's like a flower, people are interested in the pretty parts of the flower such as the petals but no one cares about the root of the flower. Mind, body and spirit, we must devote ourselves to those three characters of life to achieve anything. Our desires must be eliminated and only then can we achieve perfection.

    Peace and love everyone

  • Coexistance of power and peace... too few who have mastered the power will stay as peaceful as him. Shaolin kungfu not only trains one's body, but also the mind. I think that's why these best trained poeple are monks, only they can resiste the temptaion of abusing their power.

  • he is my master from shaolin uk. this man is ruthless.top teacher

  • MEN!!! THIS VIDEO IS SO SPIRITUAL! I love it, i try to buy this dvd ... thanks !

    :D Seeya! Buddha bless!

  • they do weights only for demo Not for training. Just to show the have power to lift. Yo!

  • We've bought his dvds and they are excellent, I do the qi gong every day without fail. It's given me so much more energy its amazing.

  • there

    we are all human.

    one planet

    one love.

    peACEveryonEverywherEVERYouknoWay.

  • he looks strong.... i kind of believe shaolin is a piece of crap.. but there's always that uncertainty that he's gonna inject chi into your heart and instantly kill you....

  • wat dus azn mean

  • azn means asian....

  • i meant id like to spar with him, not fight him...hed slaughter me

  • he looks really strong! id like to fight him......id get my butt kicked. but wats the fun in only having fights u know ull win!

  • that was tight, all that mucle comes from training and technique!!!!

  • realy?

  • love the music, what is it?

  • very interesting, you see the tie in for "scooping water."

  • does he use steroids? (just a question)

  • Are you from a mental hospital? (just a question), You have issues my friend. The only people on this planet that will not use steriods are Shaolin monks, you disgrace yourself with little knowledge saying that.

  • No, in fact he doesn't even lift weights!

  • im pretty sure they dont believe in weights? because they cause arthritis and damage the cartilage in the elbow and knee joints, wrists rotator cuffs etc

  • Actually I have his other DVD and he shows you what weight training to do! Squats mainly. Although on his site he say's he doesn't lift weights he does in his dvd!!

  • he looks strong and peasful

  • nice... he looks strong!

  • Does n e 1 know the song name???

  • nice video

  • awesome video.
