Most kids are taken into foster care while under the age of 5 years old. When they are put on drugs to control their emotions till they are 18 then they age out of the system they have never grown up with the normality of learning how to control their emotions. Many become like a bomb waiting to go off once they are no longer taking the emotional controlling drugs.

Your math is a little off. if there are 1.4 million people in prison who used to be in foster care and it costs $200,000.00 to house each one per year it isn't costing us $280,000,000.00 (280 million) it is costing us $280,000,000,000.00 (280 billion).  I think an estimate of $200,000.00 is high, but that might be correct. I can recall the estimate about 20 years ago was $60,000.00 per year per prisoner.

Foster care is not all bad and foster families are not all bad either. Some of us are actually here to help the children and their parents through a rough patch. And if you were ever a foster parent you would know that it isn't for the money. It costs to be a foster parent, time off from work, things that the children need/want. $1000 is not wait every state gets, try $200.00/month. That doesn't do anything. Idaho actually has a very good system and training programs.

Foster care uses drugs to control the children so they can keep the paycheck. When the child is adopted out of foster care, they still get $1000+ a month and get the caseworker off their back. Natural mother is kicked out to work at 6 weeks after birth if on welfare, and can't breastfeed. Foster care bitches mostly out for the money and easy control. Their husband can be a millionaire! Welfare is About $500 a month max w/foodstamps. Extra income is heavily penalized. The child is ditched at 18.

you are asking for children mostly legally kidnapped and you become a kidnapper unless the children actually do better in your care. They hide the child just because of divorce, custody battle or parent's run out of money. THE CPS makes up or uses angry landlord, ex's, inlaws left out (all make up lies on that unmarried lady) WHY would you want a child that belonged to it's mother and help the angry liars? these type of systems can not be stopped, but only slowed down. i'd suggest all dads, give-up their lively-hood, stop working, build-up in arrears, and demand to goto prison longterm, refuse to leave prison until demands are met. let women work and take over everything. let them pay for the entire state bill, especially, building and maintaining larger and larger prisons. let the kids sue the state, CSA. watch the national debt rise, and courts and CSA start to change.

I think you have a point regarding the amount of drugs we prescribe children in foster care. However, you really have no idea the depth of the problems that face the children if they a) stay with their families or b) get removed from their families. Both options bring trauma.

i agree with you that it is a federal problem. we have been foster parents since 1995 in kansas. i have gone back to school and gotten my bachalors degree in social work. i think the whole system needs to be rebampted. i am trying to start with the legislators in kansas. the amount of psychotropic medications that are handed out to children who have no clue about raising children. any ideas you can give me would be greatly appericated.

I asked for help dealing with one of my children out of 5 that has severe behavioral problems. When I refused to drug him anymore after 6 years of messing him up ... they took my custody and I may be facing child endangerment charges for not putting my son back on the drugs that caused him to hallucinate, bladder problems, thyroid problems and liver damage.
