FIRSTPETERTHREE is correct because Jesus would have to be Michael the archangel since Jehovah pointed out in Revelation of jesus being the right hand of him. The angels are under Jesus, therefore michael is and there cant be no more than one with the same power? So Jesus is Michael in his spirit form in Heaven
Read Hebrews 1. Jesus is clearly seen as higher than all angels. How can he be an angel and "much better than the angels"? Read all of Hebrews 1, it is a strong case against the notion that Jesus is/was an angel. It can't be more clear.

The name of this Michael appears only five times in the Bible. The glorious spirit person who bears the name is referred to as one of the chief princes, the great prince who has charge of your [Daniels] people, and as the archangel. (Dan. 10:13; 12:1; Jude 9, RS) Michael means Who Is Like God? The name evidently designates Michael as the one who takes the lead in upholding Jehovahs sovereignty and destroying Gods enemies.
At 1 Thessalonians 4:16 (RS), the command of Jesus Christ for the resurrection to begin is described as the archangels call, and Jude 9 says that the archangel is Michael. Would it be appropriate to liken Jesus commanding call to that of someone lesser in authority? Reasonably, then, the archangel Michael is Jesus Christ. (Interestingly, the expression archangel is never found in the plural in the Scriptures, thus implying that there is only one.)
Revelation 12:7-12 says that Michael and his angels would war against Satan and hurl him and his wicked angels out of heaven. Jesus is later depicted as leading the armies of heaven in war against the nations of the world. (Rev. 19:11-16) Is it not reasonable that Jesus would also be the one to take action against the one he described as ruler of this world, Satan the Devil? (John 12:31)
Daniel 12:1 (RS) associates the standing up of Michael to act with authority with a time of trouble, such as never has been since there was a nation till that time. That would certainly fit the experience of the nations when Christ as heavenly executioner takes action against them. So the evidence indicates that the Son of God was known as Michael before he came to earth and is known also by that name since his return to heaven where he resides as the glorified spirit Son of God.

I just learned more from firstpeterthree in two paragraphs,than I have in six years questioning priests,baptist ministers and their 100 different denominations that all preach something different. It's an island in the Pacific Ocean near Guam. I spent 3 weeks on the island and went back to Manila, Philippines. Why did a JW adult tell my child (age 13) and many of her classmates they are "of Satan" since they are not JW's? We attend church, believe in God and Jesus. I cannot ask the JW person who usually comes to our door because we threw her off of our property after this other JW called my child "of Satan" - and we threatened harassment charges against our local Kingdom Hall. Can a JW answer this for me? A straignt answer please.

Can't you just tell from the responses that these people are delusional? JW's just don't seem to be able to reason on their own. They have been told that they have the "truth" and that is good enough for them.
Or ask them WHY the Society taught for more than a HUNDRED years that the "generation" of 1914 would by NO MEANS pass away before the "end" came. And then when most if not all were dead, they changed the definition of generation.

If you do talk to a witness you might want to start with this. Ask them why it was OK for the Governing Body to join the United Nations to use the library, (yeah right) but JW's are not allowed to join the YMCA just to use the pool?

It has also been my experience that your average JW does not have a clue as to what their church teaches on many subjects. For example, I have had many try to deny that their church has said that masturbation leads to homosexuality.

Personally I have never believed in letting the fox guard the chickens. The author of "Crisis of Conscience" included a LOT of documentation in his book, and nobody has ever tried to take him to court for lying. His book showed clearly that there was just a few little men behind the curtain of "Oz" called the Governing Body.

Religion doesn't lead to salvation of any kind except financial salvation to the leaders of the religion. How much money do you put in the contributions box each week? Millions of witnesses=millions of pounds/dollars each week! They have no one to pay wages to, all jobs are done by volunteers on an unpaid basis, quickbuild halls cost only the land and materials.... Someone's getting rich!
hi there, we do have contribution boxes in our kingdom halls but each one gives as he has resolved in his heart. There are no collections ever taken in any of our meetings or tithes, which are things common among other religions.
Everything we do is done voluntarily and out of love. The work done by Jehovah's Witnesses in preaching the good news of Jehovah's Kingdom in 235 lands for more than a 100 years printing billions of bibles and bible based literatures in hundreds of languages simultaneously requires a huge amount of money.
All these are shouldered by voluntary donations by witnesses themselves and non witnesses as well. Although financial support is a must, we firmly believe that it is Jehovah's spirit that keeps the preaching work going, for without it, this preaching campaign would not have lasted up to now. One thing though, Jehovah's Witnesses believe that "there is more happiness in giving that there is in receiving." Acts 20:35. In this way, we strive to reach people with the good news of Jehovah's Kingdom voluntarily. We "give" in many different ways, aside from freely giving of our time in preaching the good news.
When it comes to material contributions, we strive to follow the principle behind 2 Corinthians 9:7, which says, "Let each one do just as he has resolved in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." This definition of giving surely does not support the idea of "guilting" us into giving. Thank you for your comment.

The Bible encourages Christians in Gal. 6:10 to "work what is good toward all, but especially toward those related to us in the faith." In harmony with this admonition, we strive to help everyone. It's hard to assume that you know what I know, as you have stated above regarding your opinion.
In any case, the work done by Jehovah's Witnesses is not focused on helping people materially. Rather, we strive to help people come to an accurate knowledge of God's Word, which is more beneficial. Why? The Bible says this means everlasting life, compared to the material things in this world that are only temporary. Shortly after the turn of the century people still smoked, used the cross in worship, and celebrated holidays to name a few, yet we strive to do what is right in Gods eyes and that means making adjustments. It is every witnesses goal whether it be individually or as a worldwide congregation to have a close intimate relationship with God and that means thinking his thoughts and not our own. So are we Gods people? Judge us by our lives and our actions.
I have a question for you astanapane1. The people who made mistakes in the bible, were they any less Gods people because of it? For example. King Manasseh committed outright apostasy and had people sacrificing their children. What about Jonah when he disobeyed God directly? Maybe Moses when he made water come out of a stone and took the credit for it? Or Peter when he denied Jesus? Were they Gods' people? Jehovah's Witnesses have never once claimed to be perfect.

The book "Crisis of Conscience" was written by Ray Franz, a former member of their "Governing Body." It opened my eyes to many things. Every JW should read this book....however doing so could get them disfellowshiped, so very few will even touch it.
They also try to regulate the marriage bed, and attempt to tell a husband and wife how they can and can't make love. This is a perfect example of why many think they are a high control cult.
In order to grasp the truth, you must use your free will and freedom of thought. Do not let your mind get trapped within the religious or scientific paradigms. Religion and science are simply forms of control that were created by the ruling elite long before you were born. And thus, it is a shame that after being born on this planet, you were raised on either of those two lies.

I have read in the paper in Sweden that you need 4 Bible translations in your home: one (Gustaf Vasa) to understand the Swedish culture, the second (1917) for the poetic language, the third (Bibel2000) for the stories and New World Translation for the exact translation of the Bible. The article was in Aftonbladet, a wellknown newspaper in Sweden, it was in 1999.
If your a Jehovahs witness, ask yourself If jehovah God is the one and only True God then doesnt that make jesus a false god? you may say he is a "mighty" god but it still makes him a false god. Educate yourselfs and not from the Watchtower.

The conviction we have in the things we believe and love for Jehovah is what motivates us to preach God's Kingdom in all parts of the world without charge. If some people believes otherwise, that what we believe is wrong, then should they not go from door to door as well to let people know of what they believe in if they are really that convince that they have the truth?
Not everyone has access to the internet, many of which are in very poor countries. How will those people be reached with this so-called truth our opposers have? Jehovah reveals his purposes to mankind in a progressive manner. As Daniel 12:4 states, "knowledge will increase at the time of the end." Therefore, as Jehovah reveals his purposes, we would have to make adjustments to our thinking, one that would be in line with what the scriptures says. It's truly a modern day miracle that despite all the hates and oppositions and in some lands, persecution, that is going on against Jehovah's Witnesses, we are still able to continue with our God-given preaching work and are helping thousands each year symbolize their dedication to Jehovah by water baptism. What religon can not lay claim to membership growth? The growing rate of witness membership into the watchtower is lower than the growing membership of the lutheren church...DO YOUr RESEARCH
I wasn't comparing our growth with other religions. Granted, the number of non-witnesses outnumbers ours. My point is, despite the hates, oppositions, and persecution made against Jehovah's Witnesses, their number are steadily increasing year after year. That only means that Jehovah God is blessing us and that no one can stop us from preaching Jehovah's Kingdom no matter what.
Despite all the lies and deceiving information that people has published regarding us, the light of truth is still able to penetrate even to those hardened spiritual hearts and are helping them conform their way of life to one that Jehovah approves of.

My comments come only from logic never irrationally. The Catholic religon, has more opposition now than ever before.........Infact Pope Benedict declared over the past decade opposition and hatred towards clergy has increased as a direct result of Satan's influence on the global system of things. FIRSTPETERTHREE is correct because Jesus would have to be Michael the archangel since Jehovah pointed out in Revelation of jesus being the right hand of him. The angels are under Jesus, therefore michael is and there cant be no more than one with the same power? So Jesus is Michael in his spirit form in Heaven

Read Hebrews 1. Jesus is clearly seen as higher than all angels. How can he be an angel and "much better than the angels"? Read all of Hebrews 1, it is a strong case against the notion that Jesus is/was an angel. It can't be more clear.

The name of this Michael appears only five times in the Bible. The glorious spirit person who bears the name is referred to as one of the chief princes, the great prince who has charge of your [Daniels] people, and as the archangel. (Dan. 10:13; 12:1; Jude 9, RS) Michael means Who Is Like God? The name evidently designates Michael as the one who takes the lead in upholding Jehovahs sovereignty and destroying Gods enemies.

At 1 Thessalonians 4:16 (RS), the command of Jesus Christ for the resurrection to begin is described as the archangels call, and Jude 9 says that the archangel is Michael. Would it be appropriate to liken Jesus commanding call to that of someone lesser in authority? Reasonably, then, the archangel Michael is Jesus Christ. (Interestingly, the expression archangel is never found in the plural in the Scriptures, thus implying that there is only one.)

Revelation 12:7-12 says that Michael and his angels would war against Satan and hurl him and his wicked angels out of heaven. Jesus is later depicted as leading the armies of heaven in war against the nations of the world. (Rev. 19:11-16) Is it not reasonable that Jesus would also be the one to take action against the one he described as ruler of this world, Satan the Devil? (John 12:31)

Daniel 12:1 (RS) associates the standing up of Michael to act with authority with a time of trouble, such as never has been since there was a nation till that time. That would certainly fit the experience of the nations when Christ as heavenly executioner takes action against them. So the evidence indicates that the Son of God was known as Michael before he came to earth and is known also by that name since his return to heaven where he resides as the glorified spirit Son of God.

I just learned more from firstpeterthree in two paragraphs,than I have in six years questioning priests,baptist ministers and their 100 different denominations that all preach something different. It's fear of the unknown that moves people to "hate" jws. Obviously not intellegance, nor insight of the bible. I have never gotten an inaccurate answer. It's an island in the Pacific Ocean near Guam. I spent 3 weeks on the island and went back to Manila, Philippines. Why did a JW adult tell my child (age 13) and many of her classmates they are "of Satan" since they are not JW's? We attend church, believe in God and Jesus. I cannot ask the JW person who usually comes to our door because we threw her off of our property after this other JW called my child "of Satan" - and we threatened harassment charges against our local Kingdom Hall. Can a JW answer this for me? A straignt answer please.

If you do talk to a witness you might want to start with this. Ask them why it was OK for the Governing Body to join the United Nations to use the library, (yeah right) but JW's are not allowed to join the YMCA just to use the pool?

It has also been my experience that your average JW does not have a clue as to what their church teaches on many subjects. For example, I have had many try to deny that their church has said that masturbation leads to homosexuality.

Personally I have never believed in letting the fox guard the chickens. The author of "Crisis of Conscience" included a LOT of documentation in his book, and nobody has ever tried to take him to court for lying. His book showed clearly that there was just a few little men behind the curtain of "Oz" called the Governing Body.

Religion doesn't lead to salvation of any kind except financial salvation to the leaders of the religion. How much money do you put in the contributions box each week? Millions of witnesses=millions of pounds/dollars each week! They have no one to pay wages to, all jobs are done by volunteers on an unpaid basis, quickbuild halls cost only the land and materials.... Everything we do is done voluntarily and out of love. The work done by Jehovah's Witnesses in preaching the good news of Jehovah's Kingdom in 235 lands for more than a 100 years printing billions of bibles and bible based literatures in hundreds of languages simultaneously requires a huge amount of money.

All these are shouldered by voluntary donations by witnesses themselves and non witnesses as well. Although financial support is a must, we firmly believe that it is Jehovah's spirit that keeps the preaching work going, for without it, this preaching campaign would not have lasted up to now. One thing though, Jehovah's Witnesses believe that "there is more happiness in giving that there is in receiving." Acts 20:35. In this way, we strive to reach people with the good news of Jehovah's Kingdom voluntarily. We "give" in many different ways, aside from freely giving of our time in preaching the good news.

When it comes to material contributions, we strive to follow the principle behind 2 Corinthians 9:7, which says, "Let each one do just as he has resolved in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." In any case, the work done by Jehovah's Witnesses is not focused on helping people materially. Rather, we strive to help people come to an accurate knowledge of God's Word, which is more beneficial. Why? The Bible says this means everlasting life, compared to the material things in this world that are only temporary. The Bible says in 1 John 2:17, "The world and it's desires are passing away, but he that does the will of God remains forever." Thank you for your comment.

I have a question for you astanapane1. The people who made mistakes in the bible, were they any less Gods people because of it? For example. King Manasseh committed outright apostasy and had people sacrificing their children. What about Jonah when he disobeyed God directly? I have read in the paper in Sweden that you need 4 Bible translations in your home: one (Gustaf Vasa) to understand the Swedish culture, the second (1917) for the poetic language, the third (Bibel2000) for the stories and New World Translation for the exact translation of the Bible. The article was in Aftonbladet, a wellknown newspaper in Sweden, it was in 1999.

Really, who knows the modern day history of Jehovah's Witnesses better than they themselves do?? Please talk to Jehovah's Witnesses when they knock on your doors to get GENUINE information.

The conviction we have in the things we believe and love for Jehovah is what motivates us to preach God's Kingdom in all parts of the world without charge. If some people believes otherwise, that what we believe is wrong, then should they not go from door to door as well to let people know of what they believe in if they are really that convince that they have the truth?

Not everyone has access to the internet, many of which are in very poor countries. How will those people be reached with this so-called truth our opposers have? In contrast, Jehovah's Witnesses have been preaching God's Kingdom in 235 lands, which includes house to house, for more than a 100 years! Truly we are a group that really believes in what we teach!

Again, we (Jehovah's Witnesses) know our modern day history better than anyone else. Your comment about C.T. Russel and the great pyramid, among others, are not new to us. As a matter of fact, there are teachings of CT Russel that we already abandoned. Why? After closer study of the scriptures. As the Bible says, "the path of the righteous ones gets brighter and brighter.." Proverbs 4:18.

Jehovah reveals his purposes to mankind in a progressive manner. As Daniel 12:4 states, "knowledge will increase at the time of the end." Therefore, as Jehovah reveals his purposes, we would have to make adjustments to our thinking, one that would be in line with what the scriptures says. It's truly a modern day miracle that despite all the hates and oppositions and in some lands, persecution, that is going on against Jehovah's Witnesses, we are still able to continue with our God-given preaching work and are helping thousands each year symbolize their dedication to Jehovah by water baptism. Truly, just as history has shown, NO ONE has the power to stop Jehovah's people from growing!

I wasn't comparing our growth with other religions. Granted, the number of non-witnesses outnumbers ours. My point is, despite the hates, oppositions, and persecution made against Jehovah's Witnesses, their number are steadily increasing year after year. That only means that Jehovah God is blessing us and that no one can stop us from preaching Jehovah's Kingdom no matter what.

The Catholic religon, has more opposition now than ever before.........Infact Pope Benedict declared over the past decade opposition and hatred towards clergy has increased as a direct result of Satan's influence on the global system of things. we do not teach that people who are not witnesses will all be killed, it will be the 'wicked' that will be destroyed, and god will judge people on their heart condition- only god can read hearts, so it is not for a human to tell another you will live or wont, they can only help them to come to know god now and feel the benefits now!
