I LOVE ELVIS MICHEAL JACKSON MARVIN GAYE......THE BEETLES......WHITNEY HOUSTON I AM AN AFRICAN AMERICAN WITH A WIDE RANGE OF MUSICAL APPETITES....THANK GOD FOR DIVERSITY........THESE WERE THE GREATS!!!!!
I love Elvis music, but I will have to disagree of the best America the Beautiful. Ray charles tops it Hands down . That being said, when Elvis sings The American Trilogy, along with many of his other greats, I have not heard non better,. He is the King, I agree, but Ray has him on this one.
I'm still amazed at how GREAT ELVIS can sing . The older I grow , the more I appreciate how talented he is . No matter how bad I feel , mentally or physically , listening to ELVIS always makes me feel better. That's why I am listening tonight . I sincerely THANK GOD for ELVIS and the happiness he has brought to me and millions of others.
@eastariel As much as I've been called cynical before, I want to thank you for that comment. It made me cry. I believe Elvis would have found it a beautiful post as well.
Forget that he's also the Greatest Entertainer That Ever Lived, but having served in the U.S.Army and living the American Dream, he is a True Patriot. God Bless You Elvis A. Presley. God Shed His Grace on Thee.
On September 29, 2011, China's state TV (CCTV) accompanied coverage of the historic launch of the country's first space laboratory with a patriotic US song, America the Beautiful. The song is regarded by many as an unofficial national anthem for the US, and features the line: "America! America! God shed his grace on thee."
In a free nation, we must learn to lead ourselves, to accept personal responsibility for our behavior. We try our best, but we all make mistakes. That's why forgiveness is so important. We need to forgive others and hope they forgive us also.
America has often been generous and charitable, yet has also been ugly at times. We must ask our international neighbors for forgiveness when our nation makes mistakes, for this nation belongs to all of us, and we are all responsible for leading her.
We must try to encourage love and wisdom in our nation, always being open to making improvements -- personal and national. As we grow in love and wisdom, so does our nation, for it's a reflection of all of us.
We must remain open to change as we keep the best of our traditions and leave the worst behind. And we must always have hope in miracles, for God can help to lead our way. God is wise and compassionate enough to make our best wishes for the world come true.
Alright! What a great performance by "The King." The way this song is performed is incredible! Very great sound, very awesome performance, and definitely an enriching vibe! Thanks for posting!
Why have the ratings been disabled on this video!!! ,my suspion!! is the english The Beatles, BoysBand trying to compere to the the muscian of all time ,so sad ,sad!!!!,they are shit just accept and adjust !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Elvis was a real American. He wasn't some Draft Dodging hippie or some Anti-American activist. Nor was he a whore. *cough* KE$HA,KATY PERRY, ETC. *cough*
Wow Elvis had it all - blessed by God to bring the Lord into our lives.
Looks, a God given voice, Charisma, the best entertainer ever - I wouldnt be surprised when we get to heaven if we find that Elvis was made in Gods image.
I love this video. Elvis was a true patriot who loved his country. Because of his love for America and God, I have to wonder if he were alive today if he would be in politices to do whatever he could to help take back America for the people or even have helped to defeat Obama in 2008. Happy 4th of July everyone!
@aaktow I'm telling you. He was drafted in the Vietnam era. The Vietnam War started November 1, 1955 and ended April 30, 1975. Elvis was sworn in on March 24, 1958. He was drafted in the Vietnam War era. Just because he did not fight in Vietnam does not mean he wasn't drafted during the war.
Every country has a piece of music which should be the national anthem. In Canada ours should be The Maple Leaf Forever. As long as America has bombs bursting in air we don't have to stand on guard for thee. One country above the 49 th parallel
BTW He wasn't old enough to have served in WW2. More like Korea
May God bless all the nations, all the humanity, everyone and everybody, and the Earth... God bless America, and also Africa, Antarctica, Asia, Australia, and Europe !!!
@9999900004222 .... Gott segne Deutschland und den Vereinigten Staaten, und auch Brasilien wo ich geboren wurde, und auch Israel mein Heimatland, und auch ALLE VÖLKER auf dieser Welt ...
I agree. "America the Beautiful" would make a better national anthem, with less militant lyrics, and better music evoking a sense of devotion to America as a homeland ( motherland, or fatherland ) under God's blessing. But, the "Star Spangled Banner" is based on the poem by Francis Scott Key, in which the Americans under overwhelming odds held their own in an important battle in the War of 1812.
The guy fucking served our country when he was called upon. Famous and all the other BS and he went. He didn't look for a way out. He went. That's why I admire him. I can care less about his hits.
***Truly, how can you not love this song? I love & admire Elvis's patriotism & great pride he had for our country & his deep, deep love for his mama & for his deep love of the Lord. Elvis was a great humanitarian and a wonderfully, rare & beautiful man. Unfortunately,as we all know,Elvis came to be a prime example as to what drugs do to a person & the effect it can have on loved ones & friends.I really miss this icon & pioneer of Rock n' Roll! I LOVE ELVIS! ~Carol in Nashville,TN USA
I saw Elvis perform at the Buffalo Memorial Auditorium in 1972 - i have seen hundreds of performers but he is without a doubt the best live entertainer in concert history. He had the entire place spellbound from beginning to end - it was awesome. Looking back on it now, I was very lucky to see him - he was the best and his songs and YouTube clips stand the test of time. They just get better and a whole new generation can appreciate him the world over.

He greatest response: to a fan coming up after a concert bearing a crown on a pillow to him saying "You're the king!", "No, ma'am. Christ is the King. I'm just a singer."
"America" by my fav guy! Born in a one-room house in Miss., grew up in a tenement in Tenn., and became a huge star, only still to be dismissed his entire career by many "real" singers and "real" critics, rarely hearing a good word said about himself. Nobody remembers them, but Elvis is on the short list of the greatest of the 20th century. : ) Follow your dreams, and keep your head up always. <3
@moonjumpr Elvis was born in a shotgun house, not a one room house. He did not grow up in a tenement. HIs parents, Vernon and Gladys, moved to many single family homes many times while in Tupelo and Memphis. Mainly because Vernon was a little lazy and had a hard time holding down a job. Mostly all singers, real or fake, acknowledge Elvis as the most influential singer and entertainer in history. It's not a case of following your dreams for E. Elvis always wondered why he was who he was.
We sang this very heartfelt and with POWER today at Church, we are here today and our Savior is the same Today Yesterday, and Forever. We shall overcome I promise you that you will see that Land and I will take you there. God bless and keep you America Bye,bye TCB <3 Love and Words Forever J-+E-+S-+U-+S

I LOVE AMERICA
America the Beautiful, I love you, wounded land.
It's time for us Americans to make our loving stand.
We'll fight to save our homeland and protect our liberty
from those who'd sell our nation for a traitor's dirty fee.
Freedom when it's dead and gone, with life lived as a slave
in the land once known for freedom and the homeland of the brave,
would be a loss so bitter that Americans one and all
must speak out NOW for freedom's way, one family standing tall!
