maybe one of the things that is good about this song is that she can talk in abstractions like that (fish swimming in the water, probably not literal) and then, the audience can sympathize with whatever it is in them that it draws up

This is really amazing. You could almost imagine this song was written for White Chalk, it really fits and is comfortable within the aesthetic for the new album. The difference is where the original is grittier and more tortured, this version becomes fragile and eerie. A brilliant song all round.
