I like the car...I have 2006 G35 coupe...I think it's faster....I like the convertible top on the Lexus...but man....there's so much to go wrong there. I'll stick with my G35 for now.

True, German cars and Japanese cars are a lot safer than American cars, but you're absolutely right - If they put some more advanced safety technology in Cadillacs, they would destroy Lexus in a split second. I'm not meaning to say that I hate Lexus; it's just that in Cadillacs, you get more style, better pricing, more luxury, better fuel economy, and more sportiness (XLR-V, CTS-V, STS-V, and XLR). It's interesting that Cadillac sells the least expensive full-size luxury sedan, the DTS, at 46 g.

The Kia Rio also gets 30, but don't talk shit about reliability in Kias, those are the worst cars ever. Too small, too unsafe, too primitive, but well-priced, fuel-efficient. Audis are really the leaders in fuel economy for luxury cars. I can't believe the Audi A4 gets the highest fuel economy of its class. GO AUDIS!

The S2000 gets to 60mph in like 6.5 seconds, and I doubt that it gets much more than a 200 horsepower 4-cylinder engine. That's not "sportiness". And the Z4's got like a 230 horsepower V6 that does 60mph in like 6.1 (sorry if my numbers are a little off). The Miata does like 6.6. The Audi R8 is really awesome. And the RS4. And the CTS-V. And the XLR-V. And the XLR. And all other Audi and Cadillac sports cars (there aren't too many others). They're inexpensive, fairly fuel-efficient picks.
The true meaning of a Luxury Coupe isn't speed but a well balanced of the two. The SC430 does a fine job at that. Leather seats are premium and plush. Materials used is second to none. Engine torque output is good.

This wasnt about safety features it was about reliability, and those american cars suffer in comparison and just because a car is fast off the line doesnt mean it can hold its own on a track that requires taking corners. You cant say something is sporty just because it accelerates faster off the line. There are so many other factors. And you want to see luxury... Check out a Lexus LS 450 or 430 and tell me thats not luxury.
The Lexus SC430 is a reliable car. It can go 150,000 miles easily before you need a tune up. I like how the interior is laid out. Small and well shaped. The exterior looks concept (awkward) but I guess you can get used to it.
Also, once the roof is down, most of the trunk space is gone, unfortunately. Then again, most people don't buy a convertible to be a utilitarian device. I'm interested in this particular model, but I wish I could get it with a 6-speed manual. But that will never happen. I think Lexus is planning on discontinuing it anyway. It's a shame because it's a nice vehicle too.
