Second the romance is put in as something to do on the off hand so they don't need great writing. Plus Atlest the game pulls you in to learn what's going on. Unlike wow. No offense, but its one thing to shirk off on the story when it isn't the primary focus in your game. Yes that is annoying and immersion breaking for some groups, but it isn't the complete end of the world.
