Then why is Wolverine leading X-Force? If Cyclops felt Logan wasn't up to the task of leading this assault force, he would have Warpath leading X-Force.

He's leading X-force because of his tracking abilities and the fact he will do what needs to be done but Wolverine has said many times in the past that he isn't the leader type.

I think there is a huge difference between Wolverine leading X-force which is what? 4 other people besides himself and Cyclops who leads ALL of the X-men, Wolverine straight up wouldn't be able to lead to the extent Cyclops does.

Teleporting X-Mens Gold Team to the past when Magneto and Xavier shared their mutations with each other. And In turned killing Xavier instead of Magneto. Resulting in the Age Of Apocalypse. Theirs waaaay more to it but thats the base.

Cyclops took "piece of shit" to a whole new level in this series. Messiah Complex is the best comic arc I've read so far. chapter 12 just came out n cant wait to get it. Easily, Wolverine's an asskicker and his leadership skills are badass but not condescending like Cyclops. I was shocked that Sinister died.

Cyclops has been and always will be the definition of what it means to be an X-man and with Xavier taking a step back it's his responsiblity to lead mutantkind into the future, Cyclops is pretty much the mutant variation to Captain America.
