I think this is a multi Candela Strobe. I dont think my old middle school has multi candela. More likely 110 Candela only as my high school had 100 Candela only strobes throughout the building.
I wonder how Edwards cam up with the strobe design? To me they should have kept all signal models with the same Strobe as the Integrity. Even with models where the strobe is built where the strobe cover is out of the signal and the wiring is inside. Like Wheelock did with the AS. Or maybe just make the Genesis with the same strobe. Wheelock kept the same strobe design on all signals except the Exeder.
@MrWill1985 I believe this strobe design uses what EST calls FullLight Technology. Essentially, it eliminates all of the reflectors found in most other strobes that contribute to their bulkiness. It does this usually a "cavity" located at the bottom of the alarm which (somehow) distributes the light more evenly. I believe that all Genesis products are multi-candela, but I might be wrong about that. Personally, I like the Genesis design, but I wish they could've kept the Integrity sound.
why does the "alarm" sound like the edwards integrity in code 3 horn, could it be that it is just a EST genesis w/ a modified horn, i would like to know A.S.A.P.
It's some kind of Edwards Voice Evac System that is an Edwards Genesis Speaker/Strobe the panel was apparently programmed to play the code 3 buzzer of the integrity. others have a siren with same or different messages
seriously (no pun intended). he sounds very happy to report an emergency in the building. idk if i like this better or recordings that ask "may i have your attention?" don't ask for our attention, just say there's a fire and we should get out.
well, irony is, my school has a SK system with SpectrAlert horn/strobes, Edwards Adaptabels, and FOS electromechanical horn/strobes! a few people have actually heard the evac, so when they hear it, they shit bricks!
@B0BBY77 Most companies offer a pretty wide variety of alert tones for their Voice Evac systems. EST happens to offer the Integrity code-3 tone as one of their alert tones. I've also heard slow whoop, fast whoop, high tone, and hi-lo alert tones on EST systems.
@firealarmfreak5 This is actually a speaker strobe. However it was programmed with the alert sound of the Integrity horn/strobe. And so far my old middle school I attended had the Genesis Speaker strobes installed in the building after I left. But I dont know how they sound. Wouldnt surprise me if they sounded like the alert sound in this video without the voice. My high school I attended has the Integrity horn/strobe since they renovated in 1996-1999.
well, he was asking what system, not the speaker. my guess is that this is an EST EST3 intelligent fire alarm system with an EST3 voice evacuation panel using EST G4-S7VM speaker/strobes, and maybe even GC-S7VM speaker/strobes as well.
This is because the light sensor in the camera lens is suppose to darken if intense light is being picked up to prevent damage to the photo cell. Since the lens is adjusting and re-adjusting for normal light so fast, it can't pick up every single strobe flash.
Actually, it's because the strobe flash is only about 1/500th of a second long, which often does not occur while a video camera is capturing a frame (when the "shutter" is closed).
dont you think if there was a fire that people would stop and leave the building even if a *very happy sounding voice for an emergency* didnt tell them to?
hahaha! I fricking love these talking ones! they're soo weird! My school has three fire alarms: first, in most of the classrooms, a triple chirp, then, in the mail hallway, there's a talking one and one that sounds like a police siren.
My high school which was just built last March has these everywhere, and I mean EVERYWHERE. But they are red and produce a low *BOOP BOOP BOOP* tone. I think they had to put in so many because they are so damn quite. It basically sounds like a truck backing up. I remember last year when they were having troubles with the system, it went off atleast 3 times a day for a week.
yes it does. i heard that same alarm in a building and then a sound clip of the integrity and noticed they sound exactly the same. now granted thats a speaker, so it can make any sound that the control panel tells it to do.
Well, I think the whole point was to make it so it seemed to have a calm feeling to it, as to not make anyone panic. I do admot though, it does sound a tad too cheery...

This is not a built in horn, it's only a 25 or 70V Speaker.

You asked why the strobe looks funny on video.
This is because the light sensor in the camera lens is suppose to darken if intense light is being picked up to prevent damage to the photo cell. Since the lens is adjusting and re-adjusting for normal light so fast, it can't pick up every single strobe flash.
