The only way out for Sarawakians is through political change and the reformasi movement. PKR has won one seat in Kuchimg, DAP has several seats in Kuching and Bintulu district. There needs to be a massive sway to the reformasi in Sarawaks next state elections, as happened in Peninsula Malaysia in March! I have faith. Malaysian democracy needs your solidarity and support!

The loggers are a mere red herring to the actual problem. The loggers are there legally as they are given concessions by Sarawak's state government, who know full well it is native land. The problem is the government don't care, as they are mere crooks and gangsters and can make themselves millionaires in just a few years if they predate on the land of their native constituents. Thus, the Penan and Dayak in general will only have a chance if Barisan National are voted out of government!

I used to live near the forest when I was a kid. I saw the loggers destroyed nature all around. I'm from Sabah but it very much similar with the case. Very sad to see..but nowadays the org kampung understand how to protect their environment. They report to Perhutanan and wait for their action (Jabatan) for they are unreliable too. Sorry to say...
