UAA in a heart beat... UAF they still treat you like your a kid.. there's no freedom at UAF at all. I've been there to visit friends and see how things are, housing wise, UAA is way better, way more freedom like your suppose to. plus UAA is cheaper then UAF. the only thing good UAF has is the well nothing really. My friends say the teachers suck. but what school doesnt? most of the teachers here at UAA are nice. so i love it here.
Hmm im actually going to UAA in the spring, can you tell me when we have to check in to the dorms? I want to check in as early as possible. Are the people friendly? Did you have any problems with theft and such?
you mean Fall??? or spring of next year??? well if it is the Fall, you'll have to check when the summer campers leave, the day they have to move out is the day you can move in. and if you are talking about 2012, then you can move in january if youd like, or when they have a room for you.
im almost positive your talking about Fall, but it will usually be around august 15ish, but you better double check.
Hey, I was just wondering for anyone that can tell me, I am thinking about going to college there but I want to bring my snowmobile, does anyone know if they would allow me to bring it and if there are any good places for some good mountain riding?
you cant store it at the college they dont have any storage, but if you can keep it in your truck or whatever the whole time, then thatd be fine, theres also other storage and UAA students get discounts, its 10% at where i get a storage. overall, unless you can keep it with you all the time, or get a storage, or find someones house to keep it at, than your screwed basically.
Man, that's a lot different than when I went to UAA back in the 90's! We had four bedroom apartments, with a big bathroom, kitchen, living room, the works. I think I'd prefer your setup, less roomates to deal with.
easy solution, apply for a room really early, when i got mine, i apply the semester before classes start, and i pretty much got first pick (although i didnt really pick) just apply early and your fine.
Im From Mass. and am going to UAA next fall does the whole 21 hours of day light really mess with you our is it no bit deal? and what is the best drom set up to get?

I might be going to UAA, I was curious, are most of the dorms like this?
SebbyRox93 2 years ago
my type of dorm room is Double Suite-Single Room
theres all kinds of dorm rooms here at UAA like for instance:
theres Temple wood apartments and MAC apartments (upperclassmen places)
theres:
Single Suites
Double suite single room
quad suite single room
quad suite double room (2 people a room)
but basically yes, just about half of the rooms are like this. they're really spacious compared to UAF trust me :D
