  • so much love for this one

  • This song is making my beard wilt!

  • Eargasm. This song makes my toes curl and my heart race.

  • My boner is getting a boner

  • Where can I find an instrumental version of this?

  • @CeleryMan3 There is a pretty good bootleg live in chicago (1989) bootleg floating around with no vocals. Also has instrumental versions of nosferatu man and washer i believe.

  • this is fuckin crazy amazing

  • what the heck i wanna hear a song not a story

  • @brucelee7150 You obviously lack taste.

  • The last two minutes of this is still the most terrifying two minutes of music ever.

  • this is so wonderfully good

  • good stuff

  • @loroy111 Captain, Good Morning I MISS YOU. I MISS YOU. I MISS YOU. I MISS YOU. I swear I'll make it up to you. I'll make it up to you. I want the police to be notified. I've grown taller now. I miss you. I miss you and I'm sorry. I'm trying to find my way home. Lost in the doorstep of the empty house Silently he pulled down the shade against the shadow. He recognized the sound. The boy's face went pale. Help me he whispered as he rose slowly to his feet. The captain reached...
  • Highly overrated album.

  • @WarGoatForestWolf666 I agree but still great

  • @gogolplex74 It's just, when you listen to an album after reading reviews that border on worship, you come at an album with very high expectations. Maybe I should stop reading reviews.

  • @WarGoatForestWolf666- It is a very unique, cool album. Reviews make it seem like the best thing ever, but its more "new" than the best, but thats what made it great, it inspired people. I think its definitely good, and underrated- keep in mind relatively few people know what slint is

  • @WarGoatForestWolf666 and Underrated too this album makes the list as one of the greatest post rock album ever made

  • @WarGoatForestWolf666 go to hell

  • @seabirdsseabirds Hahahaha. Go to hell for not liking an album. You music nerds are adorable.

  • @WarGoatForestWolf666 To be fair, your statement was idiotic. This created an entire genre, calling it overrated is just silly and a proof you know very little about real post-rock.

  • @kawadamark 1) Talk Talk's album Laughing Stock invented post-rock, not this.

    2) influential =/= great album

    3) Many people think this album is overrated musically, it doesn't have any effect on your post rock knowledge

  • @geoffwoade don't try to pass off your lack of emotion on groundless and superficial cultural reasoning. You can't feel this incredible album because your life has either been entirely privileged or you're a boring person. I don't give a shit if this album created a genre or not, especially not one that I rarely listen to - I do care that it is the most emotive album ever created. And musically, I highly doubt you're qualified to talk about the album's technical merits.

  • @iammeistaken seriously, the idiocy of theat reply is astounding. Unless you're joking, how you can make such ridiculous judgements of my character is entirely beyond me. I have been strongly moved by many albums and songs, JUST NOT THIS ONE.

I wasn't actually talking about the album's technical merits, but as someone who studies music at university i wouldn't call myself entirely ignorant in that area

  • @geoffwoade The only reason I trolled you was because you felt it necessary to come into a video of a highly cherished album to many to simply denigrate it, while superficially and pretentiously sporting your knowledge of the "post rock" genre in furtherance of that ill-spirited and worthless attempt. What was the point? We're not coming into Talk Talk's youtube videos and insisting NO this album is overrated sh*te SLINT IS THE TRUE FATHER OF POST ROCK! And if people are, then they suck too.

  • @iammeistaken nicely put, but utterly wrong. unfortunately for you i didn't come here just to denigrate the video, i happened to be listening to the song whilst trying to get into the album . the only thing that moved me to comment was your ludicrous reaction to someone criticizing the album by asserting that IF YOU DON'T LIKE THIS THEN YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT POST-ROCK. Different people are moved by different music, just accept that

  • @iammeistaken and i highly down that you notice your own ignorance on which "i do care that it is the *most emotive album ever created.*" happens to be only an opinion made by one person and not the whole world. you cannot scientifically prove it is the move emotive album in existence because many people would argue against it. you are not the world and the world doesnt revolve around you my friend.

  • @geoffwoade

    Laughing Stock Sep 1990 - Apr 1991

    Spiderland Aug 1990 - Oct 1990

  • @geoffwoade i think are 2 genres completely different

  • @gian743 fair enough, i stand corrected on the dates (though i guess you could just say spirit of eden instead of laughing stock). my other points, however, still stand

  • Love this stuff. Reckon Qotsa very inspired by this on some of their songs

  • Just Great

  • Thank you, God, for letting me discover shit like this.

  • Fuckin' shit, this is good shit.

  • I MISS YOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHH

  • Alexis Sanchez in the center of the cover.

  • Does anyone else think the part at 3:15 sounds like Wu-Tang Clan Ain't Nuthing to Fuck Wit?

  • @andrewburton12345678 HOLY SHIT.

  • I MISS YAA

  • JOUNCE!

  • wow its change !

for years ago i was looking for a slint video here and may found two or three songs on youtube!

and now everybody talk about that slint is thier rythm of life!

    laugh!!!

  • This album perfectly reflects the mood I am in quite often.

  • eeuuugggghhhh!!! MISS YOU!

  • lol this band has really funny name because in my language, slint is onomatopoeia of drooling

  • 6:42 o_O'

  • The best song on an album with no bad songs.

  • This recording was meant to be listened to on vinyl.

  • @CMAC1423 Amen

  • Speaking for myself, this is Slint at their finest.

  • A friend of mine gave me Spiderland 10 years ago. I was already into indie music but it took me 5 years before I'd appreciate Slint's music.

  • I'm 32...how did I miss these guys?!?! Fuck, I shame myself. Lol I have a very extensive 90's music collection.....love the style.

  • I'M A JEWWWWW!!!!!! OOOHHHHH I'M A JEW!!!!!

  • @fischerfish Not even close.

  • bon jovi........

    about slint...lets get some coffee

  • Actually music is subjective, but Bon Jovi sucks.

  • E P O C A L E

  • You can't say Bon Jovi sucks on a Slint video. That's like saying that Bryan Adams sucks on a Sonic Youth video, or that Bad English sucks on a Swans video, etc. It's total B.S.

  • I MISS YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOU

  • holy shit

  • snore.....

  • dat ending

  • I'm trying to find my way home.....I'm sorry..

    And I miss you.

  • greed and hunger

  • Holy crap, that ending...

  • I think this may be the best song ever written...

  • MISS YAZ!

  • I MISS YOU

  • You get a sub for having a BoC reference in your channel name, as well as uploading this awesome song :)

  • SO GOODDDDDDDD,

  • Comment removed

  • Legend has it that recording Spiderland was so psychologically taxing that a couple of the members had to be committed to a mental hospital.

  • Never has a song so perfectly captured the feeling of distress, amazing!

  • @victorychin I couldn't agree more. Absolutely breathtaking.

  • They certainly don't make musik like they used too..

    RIP 90's

    I will forever miss you.

  • Ahh, good ole' Kentucky underground! Anyone else miss the Toy Tiger?

  • I came here after being linked from somewhere else, and god, I'm glad I did. This is one of the most beautiful songs I've heard.

  • A truly amazing song. A work of art.

  • heard this song a thousand ties since i first got the album when it came out, every time i think the "I MISS YOU'S" are gonna come in earlier then they do, been a while since i listened to this actually on the ege on my seat there for a second...wait now!..oh no...now!...no now...I MISS YOU!!! ARRRRRGGGGHHH!!! I MISS YOUARRGGHHH this will be sung on american idol next year i bet ya!!!!!

  • fuckin love the last minute of the song! I miss you!!!!! waaaahhhhhhhhhhh......

  • What is this talking bullshit?

  • @DukeDanceum Pay attention to the lyrics man. It's the most important part of the song.

  • @DukeDanceum It's art.

  • HOW'D THEY GET THE CAMERA IN THE WATER?! IT'S GONNA BREAK

  • i miss this... i miss the feeling that "i miss you" used to give me. beautiful

  • 28 dislikes. Who in their right mind would dislike this song? They must have been drunk and hit the wrong button.

  • I grew up during the 90's and I even used to own the DVD of Kids, and I've even been into Post Rock for a long time now, and I still for the life of me don't understand how I had never heard of Slint until just recently. This is just amazing. Now I understand where the Post Rock sound came from. I just ordered Spiderland from Amazon and look forward to playing the CD for the next few months straight.

  • @BurnThisUsername Sorry, but it really sucks that you just discovered this stuff. You could have went to some amazing shows back in the 90's. All those bands are gone now.

  • @italiaholic Godspeed You! Black Emperors are still active, and their shows are really incredible.

  • @BurnThisUsername i have the VHS of Gummo.....

  • @BurnThisUsername You know I always wrote them off. I was listening to too much Big Black, but now I see they were years ahead with regards to Pigfuck music and that whole angst ridden Midwest sound...Get Tweez ( I just ordered it today on Vinyl from Amazon). If you missed Mule (a Michigan band with the bass player from the Laughing Hyenas) pick up the first record. If you are aware of the above; you're there. I also find Mission of Burma to be a particular launching point for Post Rock.

  • @seanfuckingjones Thanks a lot for the suggestions. Shortly after I got Spiderland, I bought everything from Slint, and I really like Tweez.. It seems to have more attack to it, somewhat in a Post Hardcore kind of way, whereas Spiderland seems more cerebral. I really love them both though. That's funny you mention Big Black, I used to listen to them a lot myself. But I will check out Mule, and I seem to have heard of Mission Of Burma, but I've never heard their music. Thanks again.

  • I never heard a group like this..I think it s 1 of the groups suffered the undeniable phenomenon of nirvana..the guitar solo reminds me to Pixies 'where is my mind and Kurt Cobain in general. ...90's the best @.@

  • I FELL ASLEEP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SONG.

  • Comment removed

  • Simply wonderful!

  • folks,where i could find that photo?

  • @Kapoios6 - - This photo is on the back of the album - BUY IT !!! It's worth your money...

  • A similar song is Lingering by Constant Supply - check the vid out on youtube folks x

  • ...jesus

  • 20 years!

  • pure awesome

  • best effing band ever.

  • I'm curious to know how everyone here heard of Slint.

  • @TheInvisibleCollege Pitchfork and 4chan reportan

  • @TheInvisibleCollege A quicksand video had a commenter suggesting this band.

  • @TheInvisibleCollege Mogwai & Sigur Ros

  • @TheInvisibleCollege top post-rock songs list

  • @TheInvisibleCollege Sputnikmusic

  • @TheInvisibleCollege Comic book store in college was playing it, asked them who it was. Been in heaven ever since. Also, everyone who watches this needs to listen to Tweez.

  • Something about this song...

  • reminds me the movie {kids} when i was also a kid and like that kind of music ...i miss you...

  • @TheProletarius Ya I always picture Telly and the 13 year old GAHH i haven't seen that movie since 95

  • i love when two people get into a row on youtube and they both try using really big words to confuse each other :)

  • @pinkmoonfan1 It's called being an indie kid. They can use all the big words they have in their arsenal, say them with utmost conviction, and they still won't mean shit. Although, to be fair, nothing means anything and we're all doomed.

  • @rexasul that reply is so futile in the grander scheme of our existence

  • @pinkmoonfan1 The grander scheme of our existence? Try to explain how we're not utterly pointless creatures.

  • @rexasul It is not that we're pointless imho, it is that meaningfull just doesn't exist. For us to be pointless meaningfull must somehow exist. And objectivly it doesn't. Or atleast I think it doesn't.

  • @pinkmoonfan1 Lol I noticed that too.

  • this hurt

  • @BasementBeginnings if only.

  • although i just recently discovered slint...

every time i hear there music it makes me reminisce

  • This is the scariest song i've heard in my entire life. The ending is terrifying

I feel like i've gone through a nightmare and now that it ended I want to start it all over again...

    *replay*

  • @Tsuta frankie teardrop.

  • i miss you too !!!!!!!!!!

  • Why does it end?

  • i'm in love

  • Comment removed

  • Not as good as Talk Talk.

  • @MaIcoImZieI spirit.... how long ......

  • @MaIcoImZieI True...however, I prefer Slint.

  • @MyBeautifulZygote No, Talk Talk is better.

  • @MaIcoImZieI I prefer Laughing Stock to Spiderland. Sue me, y'all.

  • @MaIcoImZieI I just said they're better.

  • I MISS YOU!!!!!!!

  • I just wanna wake up to this song all summer.

  • First time I've ever heard Slint. I feel like it's the first time I've heard music.

  • @GizmoLico same here

  • It's like hardcore, metal, post rock, math rock, and stoner rock all combined

  • heavy duty emotions at the end - awesome!

  • Oh Slint !...Please get back together and waste not time.

  • @vunday - - I think you missed 'em, my friend. Slint got back together a few years ago and played a few shows across the US and in Europe. I flew to NYC to see them! But here's to hoping they do it again...

  • WHEN HE SCREAMS "I MISS YOU" I CRY

  • @pozzi0 Lol, I'm imagining it right now. Fucking funny shit.

  • @pozzi0

    lol ... fucking emo

  • @CanadianChronic2121

i think you don't know the difference between emo, and emoTIONAL. i don't know, but most people actually prefer emotional people in relationships, is that right?

  • @pozzi0

    i'm not alone...

  • honda civic, nirvana hadn't "happened" yet, we were too young for bars, so we drove around listening to this, and found magic in the windshield's frame.

  • @pjbaldes It came out the same year as "Nevermind", what part of the world were you living in where you had heard of Slint but not Nirvana?!? I wish I had known it back then, I didn't know about it until the film "Kids" came out though but have made up for it since!

  • @goldentony111 same year, different months...

  • @pjbaldes you captured it all perfectly for me...except ours was a crx.

  • @pjbaldes you captured it perfectly for me. except ours was a honda crx.

  • @pjbaldes that sounds soo awesome, it'd be such a cool memory to have! xD

  • @pjbaldes Change 'this' to Slint and you've got yourself some lyrics there.

  • @pjbaldes Fuck yeah man.

  • honda civic, nirvana hadn't "happened" yet, we were too young for bars, so we drove around listening to this, and finding magic in the windshield's view.

  • the phuq'n bollox =)

  • this shit is soo depressing, i dont know i just imagine a dopie getting high on a skid row----- so awesome though-----

  • the last 40 seconds are so emotionally intense. went from quiet distortion to an outburst of desperate screams. awsome

  • it's one of those songs that are problematic in such a creative way you know, could fit nicely in movies such as "ghost world" and only the presence of this song would make the whole movie surreal. inspiring stuff, the whole point of the lyrics and falsely-like tune of the instruments and the weird tempo... it's epic

  • Pretty hevy stuff

  • When I was in high school a ffriend of mine brought over this record and we smoked a joint. By the time it got to this song my life would never be the same.

  • yo fuck this band they can do shit right

  • I just can't get enough, for the last 4-5 years I listen to this album.

  • Comment removed

  • Fantastic. Brutally Beautiful.

  • IIIIIIII MIIIIIIISSSSSSSSS YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUAAAAAARRRRGHHHHHHHHH

  • ugh.

  • this is post-rock? do want.

  • @Bayview05

If you like this, check Mogwai. That's about the only other Post-Rock band that has some traits from Slint.
