His voice has always been a forced copy of early 90s grunge singers (E. Vedder, S. Weiland, etc.). The strength of some of the songs and the timing of their release back around 2000 made it come together. I am man enough to admit that some of the songs (My Own Prison, My Sacrifice, What If, etc.) were rockin' back then.

Now, he's lost control over his vocals and the character voice that he does is even MORE distorted. Its almost too awkward to watch - almost (everyone loves a train wreck)

I think the rap that he has gotten in the past because of his substance problems has humbled him a bit. In April I will be going to see them in NYC both nights. Besides being an amazingly talented group, I have had the pleasure of meeting them 4 different times and they are gracious, humble and kind. Scott is one of the sweetest people you could ever meet, he has been unfairly judged and given a bad rap because of a few mistakes he made. Who hasn't ! I'll forever be a fan of his and Creed. They create amazing music and Scotts performances really make feel and understand every word he sings.
