  • Keef is looking better

  • Some lyrics are taken from COCAINE, by Universe

  • not J. Hurt (mississippi) keith richards in john's style. good version

  • Keith Richards recorded this song in 1993 during the Rolling Stones "Voodoo Lounge" Sessions.

There are three different takes of "Cocaine" on the "Voodoo Brew" Bootleg. In this video can be heard the short first Take. At the longer (over 3 min) Take 2 Keith talks about Blind Gary Davis. Take 3 has a lenght of 5:32.

  • uhum, grandmammy used to play this

  • Richards!

  • It's Keith alright.

  • yep keith richards

  • 100% Keith Richards on this track.

  • Well it's absolutely not John Hurt

  • John Hurt never did any version of cocaine. This is the Reverend Gary Davis version performed by Keith Richards. Gary heard a man playing this song at a country fair in 1915. You should change the details of this video, its irresponsibly wrong in 10 different ways.

  • there is also three other verses to it

  • got Coke

  • I love Keif but no, this video got it right. It aint keith.

  • Keith copied his version, note for note, from Hurt. Hurt's version is based on Gary Davis's, which was covered by every sixties folkie of any note. Davis's starting point was a tune called Take a Wiff off Me. Get it right, folks.

  • Check out the psychedelic cover of this by Universe on their self titled album

  • That is not John Hurt. He died in 1966. They did not record guitar with that up front purity of sound. The voice is not his.

  • Humans all make great music together ! Take one link out of the chain and you can throw away a life time of music and history . If we were all colored blind no one would have posted all this hate ! PEACE !

  • Keith Richards? You are all smoking crack.

  • @paragardening It's definitely Keith

  • The earliest scripts are found in Africa, which BTW was when you guy's were still running around without draws fighting your cousins, but your convinced you invented scales.

  • Black peoples Created the Arts, the first musical instruments, Drums horns and stringed instruments, including the Harp ! Proof of this can be seen in Africa, embedded in stone within the houses of eternity which are called pyramids You have been mislead by your own people

leading you to believe that no other Race developed shit before you put your foot in it.

  • Misleading Suckers ! Leaching from black man and profiting as per usual.

can't wait for you guys to invent warp speed and get your asses the fuck outa here !

  • @pharcelle1 i know you black people think you created the blues and rock n roll, well with out the great european composers, you wouldent have notes nor scales so...no one is steeling from the black man and profiting from it...get over it.

  • @mothersgin138

you dont need notes and scales to make music -.-

  • @mothersgin138 ninety percent of the worlds resources come out of Africa, while its majority of peoples are living below the poverty line. I don't know of any music conglomerate that is owned (like Sony for example) by blk ppl. While we were getting crumbs for our contributions, Jews and the like were establishing enterprises like HMV and Hollywood.. I would like to know what the fuck those great composers your talking about were Smoking when they made those scores!

  • @mothersgin138

"no one is steeling from black man and profiting from it"??? Are you Jimmy Page?

  • @mothersgin138 LOL.
