  • That is so cool!

  • dude, take the gay ass resinators off!!!

  • @MrMicas101 ...maybe you missed it, but the cutouts are installed on the midpipes - after the catalytic converters and before the resonator. So when the cutouts are closed, the exhaust is essentially 100% stock. However, when the cutouts are open they are just going through the headers and catalytic converters (eg. no resonator and no mufflers).

  • @iamcanadian2222 dude i have dual cutoffs on my truck, i know perfectely fine what they are and do. but if you take your resinators off your stock exhaust sounds alot better, my uncles got almost the same identical car.

  • @breedam- what did you expect?

  • dude 6,0 litres and only 400 hp??? wtf

  • 0:27 that rev scared me.

  • Feel sorry for those of you who have to have smog tests in your state. I like it in MS even thought we are so behind on things.

  • 500 for these or 600 for the spintech axle backs.. decisions, decisions... i love the sound of the spintechs, but i'm sure my neighbors won't at 6AM...

  • mmm, I can smell it now!

  • any problems with your cut outs?

  • YOU OWN MY DREAM CAR, CONGRATS!

  • one of the best cutout open and closed comparison videos ive ever seen 5 stars

  • So Badass...

  • What happend to the good old days when you had to get down on the ground on your pack and un-screw the caps from the exhaust dumps? I do like the electric way though.

  • @1986ElCamino350 asshole cops

  • How long did the installation take once you had the holes cut and the flange welded on? Was it pretty straightforward after that? Did it come with instructions?

  • godammit I can't wait to get mine on! I just bought a set of BadlanzHPE that are hopefully getting put on next weekend.

  • Any Dyno #'s with cutouts open and closed?

  • @pthedevil : Unfortunately, no.

  • It sounds just awesome... I'm a JDM fan but V8 sound is just awesome

  • where did you order yours from? was thinking about putting them on my gto

  • @ctotzke23 DMH Performance

  • shit man closed and open, its sounds awesome

  • Good golly day....its the "HUMBLER"!!!!

  • I wish I could afford this D:

Always wanted a GTO, they are slick as fuck. Interior is even ownage!

    Nice shit man

  • if this gto is stock, it aint puttin out 400hp. dont preach to me about it eather. probably has 344 to the wheels. maybe 400 to the crank, but thats just what they rate the motor at. none the less, great car.

  • 06's have 400 bhp. 04's have i think... 350bhp. its all so confusing because the ls1 and ls2 but there isnt even that much difference. gotta dyno it and get the numbers

  • no. the motor has 400 hp. that might be true. i have an o4 and stock it dyno's at i think 290 i did it in my auto shop when i was at school, but that was a few years ago on a different gto lol fact is they always rate the motor, never the car. gto's are very underpowered for how heavy they are, i think they weigh 3,700 lbs, so 350 hp at the motor is way less at the wheels, which is where it really matters.

  • no disagreement with that last statement lol.

  • nice car

  • no, GTO's are not allowed in Canada

they don't meet our bumper laws so they are prohibited

if they were allowed , i would be all over it like a fat kid on a smartie

  • you're both wrong and both right, GTO's were not allowed in Canada because our bumper crash test regulations but has since been alleviated and the GTO's are now importable. They have been for a year or so now.

  • mowwow87 you silly canadian gtos arent illegal in canda, thats the stupidest thing ive heard lmao

  • Intelligence is illegal in Canada.

  • LMFAO! Dude that was mean but thats funny!!

  • i doubt this car is in canada because gto's are illegal there. i am in canada on business now and havent seen one. i did research and its something about the safety with the bumper? IDK

  • with the cutouts open you loose the bottom end but you gain in the top end.

  • hear how much faster the engine revs wit the cutouts open? u are right. u do loose quite a bit low end. thats why the big cube engines or small engines wit BIG turbos run open exhaust... they don't need a lot of low end. or else they would blow the tires off leaving the line.

  • Turbo's don't use open exhaust because "they don't need low end". It's because a combustion engine actually feeds off some back pressure. In other words, the exhaust in a sense sucks air out of the motor therefore creating a better flowing exhaust. With turbo motors, this is unnecessary since the turbo propels air through the exhaust instead of the exhaust air working as a vacuum of sorts.

  • don't preach to me about internial combustion and forced air induction... i got it under control. thanks anyway though

  • If you had it under control, then I wouldn't have had to clarify. Thanks for your dick response though.

  • ur welcome... ass

  • I am yet to see a GTO in Canada...

  • yeah my friend was mudding with his blazer... and he had good acceleration.. but when his muffler fell off he need more rpms to get his truck to accel at the same rate so yes u do need back preasure to accel faster

  • I have a question for anyone... With this setup, would you loose HP/TQ with these cutouts open? I ask because someone told me you need a little back pressure or you loose power. I don't know if this is true or not? Either way, this GTO sounds amazing with them open. Thanks

  • no back presure is always bad, but scavenging is good, this is were one exhaust pulse pulls the next out

  • sorry i meant back presure is always bad, your friends blazer didnt accel as fast because there was not enough scavenging with out the muffler

  • Great idea. Flood the area beneath the driver with carbon monoxide. Stupid Americans. Duhhh

  • R u serious, unless this guy drives his car inside his house i dont think the carbon monoxide will hurt. And the guys name is iamcanadian, ur a fucking idiot

  • hey love it sounds great i was wondering wat u recommend better the DMH cutouts or the QTP cutouts Please Comment back Thanks

  • @KKKMMMMMM I've always used the DMH cutouts. I like the low-profile and 4 year warranty. I hear great things about QTP as well, but the DMH guys have always taken care of me.

  • I was thinking since different makes and models are manufactured differently, and a lot of parts are made specifically for certain cars that it would apply here. What about gaskets and stuff? And re-shaping the exhaust pipes to mount the cutouts?

  • @MorbidFuture Just to be clear, the cutouts aren't just bolt-on. The kit comes with flanges, wiring, the valves, and some liquid gasket. I had an exhaust shop cut holes on the mid-pipes and weld the flanges on. I then ran the wires and put the liquid gasket between the flange and the actual cutout.

  • they are staring to due visual checks when they do the smog test so it's not even worth it to do this.

  • @erod4936 I've never had a problem with my exhaust. (It's probably because they always get me for my tint first!)

  • @erod4936 thats why god created mexicans my friend tip em 20$ and your gonna pass lol

  • lklkjlkjl

  • Dayamm that GTO sounds soo good with the cutouts open, but put some Flowmaster Mufflers on the car and open the car up with the cutouts closed with the Flowmasters installed and it will sound really good both ways...

  • that would ruin the point of the cutouts, you want to make people think that it is stock.

i dont know if you have ever heard one in person they sound realy good stock with their true dual exhaust from the factory

  • Sounds amazing man, I Love Chevy V8's

  • Great sound improvement, thumbs up!

Did you test it on a dyno to check how much more hp you get when the cut-outs are opened?

  • Yes, I did dyno it. I only picked up 2hp with the cutouts open but I installed them for the noise/fun factor not hp. You can see the dyno video by looking at the videos under my username here. DixieMuscleCarscom

  • damn righttt i love mine

  • QTP cutouts range from around $200 for single exhaust applications to around $500 for dual exhaust w/controllers. Im sooo putting these on my 06 GTO M6. Not that it needs it, our LS2's make Mustangs sound like leaf blowers....To the poster...Did you have any backpressure issues or torque loss?

  • @PattDomenici

No issues that I noticed... but then again I didn't have it dyno'ed or anything. It's hard to really tell though since the sound is so overwhelming. With my SOTP meter, it seems like it rips harder with them closed... but it mentally seems faster when they're open since it's so loud and mean sounding.

  • @iamcanadian2222 my truck slowed .09 in the quarter due to back pressure issues but your right the sound makes you feel faster. Good Luck with the gto.

  • @iamcanadian2222 a guy dynoed his with the same set up and he actually gained 2hp and 1.7 tq

  • I want that! How much$?

  • We have some group pricing setup at DixieMuscleCars(dot)com

  • Are they available for oldsmobile intrigues?

  • they are universal for any car you want.

Quick Time Performance (QTP) makes them too

Never seen the DMHs before but they look really nice

  • That's cool, makes things easy.

  • theyr aftermarket so yeah theyr for any car ..

  • can someone tell me what the cutoffs do im confused

  • They allow you to make your exhaust louder and add a few more horses when open, then you can close them when you go to the grocery store to keep the cops off you.

  • if you have to ask you shouldnt know haha its kindove self explanitory

  • DAMN, that thing sounds RAW

  • nice holden....

  • Your moms Holden my nuts in her mouth.

  • haha what are you a third grader?

  • thats exactly what I want I'm an Aussie with a Holden SS , LS1

similar to the Monaro or GTO as it is sold over there, where can I get one of these.

I want a loud exhaust for show, but when the

cops are around the ability to close it off

    so it sounds street legal.

  • I'm happy to see Holden's influence finally reaching America. I have a 2006 Pontiac GTO (Monaro) and can't wait to pay it off and get a Pontiac G8 GT (Commodore SS, I believe). Great cars with great performance. The seats in my GTO are probably the most comfortable ever in a Pontiac. Mustang owners don't even bother to rev their engines next to me; they know better.

  • cutouts, my bad

  • Are the cut offs for show or go, or both?

  • Mostly for show, although some will argue for go. You are lowing the backpressure on your exhaust with them open and some will argue decreased bottom end power and increased topend power.

  • Keep your catalytic converters on & you'll be fine.

  • iamcanadian is correct. They are AFTER the cats and BEFORE the Resonator (now replaced with an H-pipe).

  • thats awesome :)

  • They are after the cats. On the midpipes.

  • ...but before the resonator and muffler.

  • Sounds great. I just got a set for my 07 CTS-V. Do yours completely seal shut when you close them?? It seems mine flap a little at idle and still let a bit of air out even when closed as far as they'll go... thus you can still barely tell there is exhaust under the car and not all the exhaust exits the stock pipes...

  • Nate, mine do seal off completely so that you can't hear them but if you hold your hand near them while they're closed, you can feel some air coming out. Not enough to hear them though.

  • I'm sure that the video doesn't do it justice.

  • @qwertyI234 Videos for exhaust cutouts really do not do them justice. They sound so much nicer in person.

  • hey man that DMH really sounds nice did you just put that on your STOCK exhuast or is that an aftermarket exhuast

  • They are VERY loud even with the windows up. There really isn't a lot of "drone" just noise however I don't leave them open when I'm just cruising around. I only open them briefly when I want to show off or get some attention. lol!

BTW, next week I'll be installing my new headers, cats, h-pipe and reinstalling the cutouts. I make a new video then and post it up once I'm done.

  • AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE

  • Sounds great but how is the interior drone like with the cutouts open?

  • Sounds Awesome!

Are those electric exhaust cutouts expensive?

  • $360 for dual cutouts - comes with all the wiring, flanges, and valves. You can sometimes get them cheaper if you get in on a group purchase through forums though.

  • Can Wait until i get my exhaust

  • That's awesome. That sounds great.

  • Thanks guys!

BTW, the front jackstands are EIGHT TON Truck jackstands with locking safety pins.

  • you had that thing up on jack stands hella high!!

    goat fucker

  • sounds really good...

  • scary!

  • Sounds nice

  • Healthy sounding GTO!
