Somehow Wikipedia uses a completely different text than you. Actually I listened to several versions and they were all like your's.

@HermesTrixmegistos As shanty songs were made up by the shanty man there would be many variations to the lyrics depending on who was singing them. I tend to look up lyrics from as many sources as I can before uploading songs I have not already got in my repertoire, and even adding to verses of ones I do have when possible.

Thank you for your flattering comment. I feel it only fair however to defend others who sing shanties in a more traditional way as they would have been sung on board a working vessel at sea. They would not have had an instrumental accompaniment and often had to shout rather than sing to make themselves heard over the wind and weather.

This what I look for when I want to listen to Folksongs. Somebody who isn't tone deaf and plays an instrument. Preferably guitar, harmonica, or piano.

There are probably many different versions, as being a shanty it would depend on who was singing it, for as necessary the shantyman would add his own verses now and then.
