this sounds very dangerous to do inside, I would recommend NOT trying it indoors, or at all for that matter. To have an open container of burning alcohol floating around in the house is very dangerous. is this an apartment ? how many other people live in this building with you? if just one of those threads were to fail, and the burning liquid falls to the floor, it is a disaster waiting to happen, I beg you to please stop, there is much safer fuel to use, and much safer places to do this

hi! my me and my classmates are having a hard time in making a miniature hot air balloon, what are those materials that you use? pls reply me ASAP

well, I used one bin-bag (thin black foil, 30 liters); 4 pieces of thread that were attached in 4 places to the open side of the bag and to the aluminium foil (with sellotape). The fuel was alcohol (ethanol ~80 %)

like how many meters of a thread attached? whats a sellotape? is it like a double sided tape?

about one meter of thread cut into 4 pieces ~15cm each. They are attached to the aluminum foil and bag (watch the video especially at the begining when you have some photos- you can see how it is attached) I used normal transparent adhesive tape (for example Scotch tape).

did you use sticky tape to stick the thread to the bag and could i use turpintine fluid (white spirit) for fuel

yes, I used some sticky tape. I dont know if you can use this "white spirit" as a fuel. Maybe just try...good luck and be careful

I dont think it is really smart to have (spirit) alcohol in house when baloon drops it burns pretty hard. but that is my oppinion.
