I do like a good parody, and this is very cleverly done, fitting Kate's dance to Jah Wurzel's voice. The effect is laugh out loud funny. Well done, and thanks.
Let me graaaab yer soul away...I've been back three times to enjoy this in the last month. Of all the idiot versions of WH on YouTube, it's easily the most accomplished. Makes me laugh every time. Every toime. Why not do some more?
I think this is proabbly what happens in Kate Bush's nightmares. She;s singing in this old video and funkified reggae version of her song comes on sung by a nearly unidentifiably accented man. I mean what is that, Cockney? Brogue Welsh? Can;t decide.
Ha! Long way from Cockney-land. It's West Country, where the pirates came from - Devon, Somerset, Cornwall. Try this experiment. Search for "cornish sea shanties". The vid of that title comes up top of the list. Play it first, then straight after play Kate's The Dreaming. Going from one to the other is not a big culture shock at all. You can hear the influence in the deliberately monotonous and repetitive rhythms. That's the kind of stuff Kate grew up with, what her family were into.
Wow...so this is what the Wuthering Heights video would be like if I was drunk while on LSD while smoking a dubie. Huh.
