  • I think you misunderstood me! :)

Let me explain: Since the quality of this video here on youtube is 240p, are the DVD's in 240p too? Do the DVD's have the same low quality as the video here on youtube? Or is the quality on the DVD much higher? Like 480p maybe or higher? That's my question, what is the pixel resolution/quality of the DVD's?

    Thank you! :)

  • @ZoldierrZzz Sorry for the misunderstanding.... I have never been asked this question before. I am not such the exact pixel resolution count of our DVD's...but I can tell you they are extremely High...we shot all three with professional equipment and all were professionally edited ...lets just say in no way does Youtube do them justice....LOL hopes this better answers your question

  • @jodicreager

That answers my question, thank you! :)

  • Howdy...is the 240p for cell phones? (lower res right?) If so sorry, just the regular DVD for TV's and computers....

  • Is the dvd in 240p too?

  • Where can I buy the tool you used on this video you used to create the nose flange ? looks like a rounded spoon.

  • @51164artman I give an address on the DVD of where we buy the tools...basically they are 'dental tools' you may be able to purchase on the internet...they are called dental spoons.

  • JUST TO TELL YOU THAT YOU DO VERY, VERY GOOD. AND LIKE A TEACHER, ONE OF THE BEST!!

I TRY TO FALLOW YOU MAKING THE SAME, OF COURSE, I DID NOT DO THE BEST, BUT WITH THE GOOD CLASSES YOU GIVE, DID'NT DO SO BAD.

    ANY WAY....CONGRATULATIONS !!

  • Thank you Thank you!

Will be heading over to the site to buy the DVDs!

  • do you use water to soften the sculpey clay? how are the tools named? please reply

  • @samfsilentbob Hi Sam... Super Sculpey is a PVC Clay ...not a water base clay. When I smooth I use a tiny bit of 70 % rubbing alcohol and brushes....some use baby oil, but I have never used the oil. As for tools I use many different types... mainly dental spoons and the Kemper Laceing Tool. Hope this helps

  • @creagers1 Hi! Thanks for the reply! It definetly helped me a lot! Just bought some super sculpey and compared it with traditional clay & the PVC clay is harder than the water based clay. Another difference is that when you add a pice of clay to your figure with the PVC clay you just add it and smooth it, with traditional clay you have to scratch and moisten both of the surfaces in order to keep them together. if u dont when you bake it the piece it'll explode! the name's actually Emmanuel :)

  • wow, excellent tutorial! thank you!

  • Do your DVDs work on UK TV sets?

  • @Doodlenaut ... Yes! We sell many DVD's to the UK

    Thanks for asking

  • Noses are the best part of any character design. They're just the best to draw or shape. Even though this is an excerpt, from just watching I've learned a lot. I hope to get these DVD's soon. Any advice in working in a smaller scale?

  • @PsykerScum .. I totally agree, I adore noses..so much character !! Also can make a face go from female to male or male to female with a few small adjustments to the nose...

So happy you are enjoying the excerpts...

As far as working in small scale... (I work in 1:12th scale miniature) I use the exact same method for miniatures that I use for this larger size... just scale everything down... my mini hands even have the armatures as well as the legs and feet

  • What is that clay that used called ? i've been working so hard to find it , i'm planing to do a baby clay for my GF at her birthday hopefully !! THANX ALOT

  • where could i buy your dvd's?

  • @InariGamer On our web site is the only place to purchase them creagers.com Thank You for asking

  • @creagers1

What is that material that you use? Beautiful job, very nice...

  • hi, can you say me the type of tools u youse and the name of your dvd? please

  • I have both the Sculpting the Head and Sculpting the Hands DVDs and they are invaluable - the next best thing to taking a class. Can't wait to get the Legs and Feet DVD! Have you ever considered a tutorial DVD that shows how you create some of the wonderful costuming and props you use?

  • @PrettyBonesArt So Happy you are enjoying the DVD's ...The leg and foot one is really something to behold...

We have considered making another DVD on just that...props, accessories etc... but trying to find the time is the hard part... hopefully someday soon...thanks again

  • Umm..excuse me..im still a beginner at sculpting and mostly of what im using as a sculpting material is modeling clay(plasticine). And I am only using my hands for sculpting. I really liked this video a lot. Can i ask what tools were you using?. I hope you would reply as early as possible.cause my interests is twitching of knowing the right instruments for what im creating. Thanks...

  • @ngatangs22 Glad you are enjoying the video excerpts.. You should eventually get into a clay you can easily bake ...plasicine is easy for practice...but never lasting.

I use dental tools and wooden tools... but any tools handy can work. The picks from nut cracking sets are great, tooth picks, Orange sticks for manicures, sanded and shaped dowels, Metal files...anything basically many artists just use their fingers and finger nails. Try some 'brushes' for smoothing....

  • I think polymer clay is easier to sculpt on due to its elasticity

  • Isn't rubbing alcohol (70%) a flammable liquid so how would you bake your super sculpey later on? Wouldn't you have to leave it for a couple of days before baking?

  • *whistles* Very nice and easy to understand, this video's incredibly helpful - definitely have to go find / purchase the whole thing sometime in the near future. Thanks so much! ^^

  • @RuneTraverse Thanks so much..you can visit our web site (listed on the YOUTUBE at the end) for DVD info. when you are ready

  • did you use an armature for the head or is it just the solid sculpey?

  • @lutz18692 Hi... I always use a foil/glue center ball armature in each head...if you don't...it can easily crack if solid clay is used...

  • I love these videos by Jodi Creager. they are infromative and Jodi is a very sharing artist.

  • @fantasyfan2010 ..Thank You so much for your very kind words. We are thrilled that you have enjoyed our DVD Segments on Sculpting a Doll Head in Polymer Clay... Best, Jodi and Richard

  • Hey there! I'm just getting into super sculpey myself. I couldn't help but notice the brush. Was that dry, or dipped in a medium (such as clay softener?)

  • @Nadesican ...Hi There , glad you are enjoying the DVD excerpts... When I smooth with a brush I have always used rubbing alcohol (70%) ...I dip the brush...tap off slightly and smooth...the trick is not to load your brush with it and get the clay to wet...and wipe your brush a few times inbetween smoothing.

  • Прикольно морду лица лепит.

  • great videos. you are an amazing person. thank you for sharing your knowladge and techniques

  • i love your works

    very very nice

  • Hi Spy...

I use a blend of white Premo clay and Super Sculpey for my 'outside' facial sculpting...if you are asking do I use 'clay' for an armature...no I don't. I use brass, electric fence wire (18 gauge) , wrap in foil for sculpting base...and if I am sculpting full body I apply clay over this...or just the arms and legs...with a cloth torse..attaching arms and legs to that...

    Hope this helps

    Jodi

  • What an informative sculpting video! I am amazed at the sculptural realism you are able to create in miniature. I hope at some point you will discuss the various differences with Polymer products, and the tools you use. If this is in the full DVD, I will order one today. Please let me know. This is one of the best instructional videos that I have seen!! Thanks for posting!
