Anyone know how to fix it a different way?My problem is I got Halo CE Anniversary brand new I put it in it loads the first mission then it freezes but it works on all my other Halo games except for ODST I pulled it out of the tray because when it closed it wasn't on all the way so half of it was in and half of it was out.

Got this off xbox!!! tried everything and it didnt work :(

1.clear system cache (you can get the update back later) try the game now

2.if this doesnt work turn off xbox and take out hard drive turn the xbox back on and if the game works then something is up with the hard drive

3.turn the xbox off again then put back in the hard drive and then BOOM IT WORKS

hey guys i found if you do this, don't slide it to far in do it for about 10 seconds and if it doesn't work, you can pull out but pull the tray to this side ----> if it's standing up it should kind of go on a slope and come out a tiny bit giving you more room to grip it and just tug on it alittle, just don't pull it like it's metal, cause it's plastic.

@Militant183220 No I have a 2008+ console. Im playing Mass Effect 2 and I got to the point where you put in the second disk. So I did and it says that I have the Incorrect disk and . So I go to the dashboard and run the disk from there and it says the disk is unreadable. There is not one scratch on the second disk Every single other game I have works like a dream. Ive tried everything even your method (sorry for calling it bullshit I was mad) so Im just going to trade it in for a different copy.

This actually does work with cracked games. My Db Raging Blast 2 had 2 cracks and a little wave on the mirror but I tried this and it worked. However if you haven't updated it, it won't work :P.

Solution.Just so everyone knows and they dont have to go back a couple pages, have your xbox about 4-6 inches off the ground above a padded surface/carpet (possibly a pillow) with the on button facing down. Drop it onto the pillow maybe a couple times. This legitimately works, which is what is so awesome and yet weird about it. (and obviously dont have any disks in the thing!) Think it may something to do with dvds but oh well. Another tip, keep your xbox horizontal so it wont laser your discs.

Get a pillow, make sure the xbox on button is facing downwards and drop it to the pillow a few times, legitimately it works, so thats awesome but weird, but dont have any discs in the console while attempting this, it wont harm your GAME discs, and your DVD's, another tip, keep your console horizontal so your discs cannot be lasered. tell me if this works, if not keep banging the top of the xbox 360 and eject and close the disc tray at the same time MULTIPLE times/

@HahahFagz Yes, he put it in between the magnet and moved the paper back and forth. It cleans off the magnet and supposedly slightly energizes it. The problem is when that megnet starts to go, it no longer holds the cd steady and it will be noisy and not read. If the magnet is to far gone this will not work. You can also glue it on, then you wont have the problem. The case will hold it snug on top, glue will hold it to the bottom

@EpiKPower all your data is saved on the hard drive in the xbox, not the disc itself. my black ops is messed up too and i believe its why my xbox isnt working. the disc is chipped in the center and im assuming its lodged inside the console which im about to take apart to clean
