@Dosite1 I work at a Cracker Barrel, and have heard the new ORB CD all day, every day for the past 3 weekends. I'm not a fan of country music, but I actually like it. The band's rendition of this song is awesome.
This was a hit in my book. I love it. I remember years ago when I first heard it, it was great. I saved this one in my favorites. Thanks for sharing. Gwen
Google search "Tubetilla Free" download "Tubetilla Free" then download right off Youtube straight to your hard drive. There are "how to" videos here on youtube .
i have heard this song once or twice in the past . i thought about it and thought i would look it up. i was raised on this time of music. i love good old country music. it puts tears in my eyes every time. I want to thank all the great country singers for their great music. god bless them all
Thanks for posting. I remember a video with William singing "The long and winding road" but I can't find the video or the song. Anyone care to post it?
thanks for the post love this song in the late 60s early 70s i would go with my father to gospel music shows i have seen the oaks several times william lee was my favorite allways liked to hear little willie sing to
I agree with you. Country is going to hell in a handbasket. Some stuff is still okay, but for the mostpart, the new stuff is just bubblegum pop music.
Excellent choice as usual. keep up the outstanding work and I do appreciate your going above and beyond the usual postings. Sorry I missed you when you came up here to The Big Apple.
What the heck is it with those fingernails???? Oh mercy!

@nomopms1 He's also a guitar player and more than likely keeps his right hand fingernails long for fingerstyle rather than use a pick.

My cousin Vernon wrote this song. I always knew he was talented.. glad others can see it too! He is amazing!

@8aPeach2 One of my favorite comments ever. Do they still make Lee press-on nails?

The Oak Ridge Boys have re-recorded this and it is included in their new album available in Cracker Barrel's mid September 2011.

William Lee Golden is my grandmother's 1st cousin from Shreveport.
GatorTrunk 4 years ago
He sounds like Randy Owen from Alabama. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

always loved this song. Should've been a number one hit - better than 99% of what passed (and still passes) for country music.
