  • What the heck is it with those fingernails???? Oh mercy!

  • @nomopms1 He's also a guitar player and more than likely keeps his right hand fingernails long for fingerstyle rather than use a pick.

  • My cousin Vernon wrote this song. I always knew he was talented.. glad others can see it too! He is amazing!

  • Willam Lee press on nails?

  • @8aPeach2 One of my favorite comments ever. Do they still make Lee press-on nails?

  • The Oak Ridge Boys have re-recorded this and it is included in their new album available in Cracker Barrel's mid September 2011.

  • @Dosite1 I work at a Cracker Barrel, and have heard the new ORB CD all day, every day for the past 3 weekends. I'm not a fan of country music, but I actually like it. The band's rendition of this song is awesome.

  • William Lee begged the oaks to let him back in cause he couldnt make it in his own,, lucky him they took him back.

  • Love it...makes me cry..

  • Very under-rated song!

  • This was a hit in my book. I love it. I remember years ago when I first heard it, it was great. I saved this one in my favorites. Thanks for sharing. Gwen

  • thanks for the post love this song in the late 60s early 70s i would go with my father to gospel music shows i have seen the oaks several times william lee was my favorite allways liked to hear little willie sing to

  • agreed, thought this one never got the play it deserved. loved to 2-step to it.

  • ahhh...back when CMT was good

  • William Lee Golden is my grandmother's 1st cousin from Shreveport.

  • He sounds like Randy Owen from Alabama. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

  • always loved this song. Should've been a number one hit - better than 99% of what passed (and still passes) for country music.

  • I agree with you. Country is going to hell in a handbasket. Some stuff is still okay, but for the mostpart, the new stuff is just bubblegum pop music.

  • thanks,one of my favorites!

  • Thanks for posting this great, classic video.

  • Awesome boots.

  • thanks Kyle, you are the ultimate ORB fan!
