Ah, a nice CT challenge for a change instead of FFVII.

I've done a couple of them, (Initial Equipment Crono, Marle, Lucca, Frog only) since any party member after that has good equipment. (No Techs Unless Needed) because of a certain dinosaur boss you have to hit with lightning, and a LL challenge.

Never done a duo LL challenge, so it should be nice.

Good luck with this one. It's good that you aren't firm on playing with only the two lowest levelled characters at any point of the game, because certain battles require a person with a lot of HP and a higher level than usual to be present

Also, if you want to beat Magus, I dare say you'll have to farm Shelters in order to afford the ultra-expensive equipment in Medina. It's hard enough in a normal LLG

I guess by certain battles you mean Nizbel 2. I guess Ayla will play an important role in that battle.

Shelter farming for Medina equipment sounds rough. Good thing I'm playing this on an emulator.

if you read the description, you'd understand why he used Lucca.

from the description:

"I will use Crono in every battle (unless the battle should turn out to be impossible that way), but the other character can be anyone. PREFERABLY THE LOWEST LEVELED CHARACTER, but that might be impossible in some cases too."

Frog starts at a level higher than the party of Crono. Plus, as you said, he's stronger than Lucca. What point in taking a challenge if you use the strongest characters you have?

Pretty much this.

Crono + Lucca = Average level 1,5

Crono + Frog = Average level 3

I was actually joking. Maybe in a LL game he is stronger, but in anything else, he is beyond weaker than her.

I didn't think so. XD my party ALWAYS had Frog as the "tank" (and he can use Heal too, in advanced parts of the game), so I never thought of him as weaker than any one else there, exception made for Crono and Ayla.

I love Frog, but I have never had a use for him unless I was forced to use him. He doesn't do enough damage, and once you know how to play well enough, you can either live off of items or just Marle's healing spells. I have gone through the game only using Crono Lucca and Ayla. I find no use for him.

my party has always (unless it was required to be different) been Crono Frog Ayla, Ayla+Frog combination was a huge heal for everyone.. until Magus showed up, of course. Crono Magus Frog. The first two kicking the living hell outta everyone, the third doing so AND healing. XD

was it luck reliant? it seemed that there was a part were chrono only had 1 hp left after taking damage from needle attack, but maybe it was just planned.

It's not a luck reliant battle. That attack never did more than 50 damage to me in test attempts, so I didn't bother healing.

good luck with lavos, its barely possible with 3 people, let alone 2. i guess youll prob have to lvl chrono up a little, specially round magus and flea. if u need help, moogleboss has a LL challenge on this game, but i doubt u will, and i doubt u would except it anyways, as the description says u wont xD

Low Level

Perfect (doing all sidequests, obtaining at least 1 of each item)

Solo (Crono or Glenn)

Nice battle. It will be interesting to see how you'll last against some of the latter bosses.
