You can try a variation of froggying- put one leg in and one leg out. Sometimes my daughter actually likes to sit on TOP of her feet, too. But at 5 months he should be fine with his legs in the open position. It might just be that he needs to get used to it. Try walking around outside or near a window. Make sure he's not too hungry or sleepy!
We have a Beco Butterfly 2 - my 5mo son cries when I put him in in front carry; it looks like his legs are too far apart (I'm a small person, but with big hips). Am I just not carrying him right? He's not a fan of frogging either. Thanks!
Good question...they are both pretty similar. The Butterfly 2 has an internal panel that goes between you and baby, and some say that actually helps to keep moisture and heat away. The Gemini has no panel which may be cooler but some say it is not. To each his own! :)
