In Malta. I too cherish good memories of the early fifties. Eight toddlers on the carpet to keep us quiet on the Sunday morning in the sitting room where my father enjoyed playing the Voce del Padrone etc with these Italian classics like Buti, Villa, Schipa etc. In the other side of the house my mother in the kitchen singing as loud as possible the Romanina and so many other greats of the time. thanks for the memories.
Strabiliante canzone!
these memories are more alive in you immigrants than in actual "Italians". Sometimes I think we are losing our identity. But you keep it alive for us... thanks!
This is my favorite of the Carlo Buti songs. Love it! Grew up on all Italian music. I also love Chitarra Romana. They all have a special place in my Italian heart.
Hello I'm from Uruguay I will be very gratful if someone could tell me how i can find the song "Agata" by Carlo Buti, I think he song it n 15/09/1937 . I am searching this song for my italian granfather who has been searching this song for years Tahanks
He was a hansome SOB, beside a great Ilalian soul singer. In one of his video clips on this he looks a little like the great Valantino, Madona those were the days. Reposa y pace' to all of them.
A truly beautiful one of a kind voice!Their will never be any singer that can compare to the "Golden voice of the great Carlo Buti! Thank you for posting this wonderful song!
Sunday morning after Mass, put a Carlo Buti record on the old Victrola and cook the sause. Those were the days. My grandpa was the DJ and grandma was the cook, madonna what a cook. I have tears in my eyes thinking about it. Oh how I loved those people and that era. It really was the best of times.
Dear myradioroom, you and I are obviously cast from the same mold. Its called the old school Italian in all of us. We new warm, loving and very unique people, people our children and grandchildren will never know. All you and I can do is try to give them good memories like you and I have and instill some pitsa frita and baccaqla tradition in them. Carlo Buti, Dean martin and the rest are gone but w've got Andrea Bochelli, not the same but not too bad either. ciao amore' , Sig
Ah yes, I too remember those days... It's such a shame that they are gone. Now families are spread out and have assimilated. But are we better off? I think not. We've got more stuff.. but we don't have what counts.. a love of life
@sigclu I still can't enjoy a Sunday unless there is a great pot of sauce cooking. Even though my children did not keep the tradition since they did not marry Italians, they know they can come home to a great Italian pasta dinner with my Italian music back ground most likely including Carlo Buti, just as my parents did.
i miss my own nanna when I listen to this - - the first 4 or 5 lines Buti sings almost acapella, a few strings of a guitar - - like a stornello, are probably the most beautiful 4 or 5 lines of recorded music ever recorded in Italian or English or any language - delicato, fino fino (like silk) - - Bravo Maestro Buti; Bravo!!!
i am completly indifferent if is a fascist or red, white or yellow........together with rina ketty........IS A GREATEST OF ALL ARTISTS [ART FOR ARTIS=oscar wilde]........
Grazie yt. Tu non ci permetti di dimenticare!!!!
WOW! This brings back some wonderful memories when I was a kid. It was one of the favorites in my good old Italian neighborhood. I wish we could bring back the good old day. Buti is great!!!!

Lasciatela passare,
vedi la Torre è prima
nessun la può fermare
perchè cammina cammina
e al terzo giro al casato
vola come un diretto
purgati andate a letto
ha vinto il Torrion!!

These old Carlo Buti, Claudio Villa, Tjoli songs bring back the sweetest past of my childhood years in S.F.
My parents who immigrated here from Italy before the war, played these songs everyday, and I enjoyed singing them as a child.
Long live Carlo Buti's songs forever!
