Correction to below. Second squad second platoon on post and yes it was OP VA

Second platoon, bravo co. 1/5 was on post at the time of the attack. The rest of the platoon was on react along with a small detatchment of charlie co guys. Around 1400ish if I remember right. Lcpls perry, corey 0351s and nagel 0311 get credit for the kill. Awesome Marines.

@adamfreedom We were there Jan 05 to Jan 06. OP Hotel was located just east of 296. Then again, maybe there are more than one OP Hotels? I suppose it is very possible with multiple units working in the same AO. The OP Hotel we manned was just south of the Taxi Stand and north of RPG Alley.

And for clarification, I was in OP Hotel when it was attacked. I have the original video (which can't be found anywhere online) which includes the attack from four camera angles preceded by the insurgent (named Ali) saying his farewells to this friends and family, along with a whole bunch of hoopla about killing Americans.

In any case, an awesome aerial view of a different attack.

Only problem is, this isn't OP Hotel. This looks like it may have been Herrea, or maybe the Governor's. OP Hotel is down by 296 and 297 (which are adjacent to the Saddam Mosque in the Eastern part of Ramadi. This is further north and west as evident by the Euphrates just to the north.

Additionally, the Marines never sat in OP Hotel. The Marines AOR was to the west, the Army was to the east.

We caught the dudes shooting from the hotel across the street. Rolled up on them off of Racetrack. Got us an opal full of weapons and one dead Insurgent!

@adamfreedom Oh, that makes sense too. I mean if the streets are completely empty people dont want to die. I just thought it was really early in the morning but that makes sense.
