@joeinparis In the preferences you will see something that says "snap to" objects or something like that.

@ElectrikSquid If elements has layers, then it would be the same.
@joeinparis Snaps are in the preferences. When set it will sort of "align" things with "tug".

this is very helpful! my only problem is that I cannot find layer mask anywhere on my program! I'm using Photoshop Elements... any suggestions??

I don't think elements has masks but if you search for "photoshop elements layer mask" I think you'll find help.
