He never is, that's part of what makes them so funny. Can't remember which podcast it is but there is a hilarious moment in one of them when Adam has just talked at length about a subject and he stops and asks Joe something along the lines of

"What are you doing there, are you taking notes?"

"Oh no sorry I wasn't listening"

"So what are you writing?"

"I was drawing a matchbox...see look, I've shaded in the end there to suggest some matches"

funnily enough, the discipline of avoiding the fiddlesticks word can produce a more entertaining show... BUT somehow adam & jo's use of gutter talk was more amusing than some of their contemparys ( <---- sic?)
