Daniel definitely belongs with the actors who have the passion to constantly learning how to improve his craft.
It has been fascinating watching this Oakland native enter Hollywood's landscape and the type of support he is receiving (or not receiving) from the Asian Pacific American communities.
It was a total pleasure to talk to somebody who was passionate about his craft, as oppose to being a "Star" or the (ahem) first "successful Chinese/Asian (singer, actor, songwriter, dancer, producer, director, etc.)!
Funny comments. When rare and unexpected opportunites present itself to have a video interview with an actor of Daniel's stature, one just has to embrace the and enjoy the privilege. With Daniel, the setting of his choice was not available and we looked for the closest place of his preference since he knows the area well.
It was interesting that the Chinese waitresses knew exactly who he was (see pic @ end of the interview) while everybody outside were aware of the George Clooney of HK!
next time you interview the man, please go to a rock concert or a night club, because there is not enough background noise and I can kind of hear Mr. Wu in this video.
If one is unaware of them, feel free to visit US Asians (can't seem to post a link in this comment) as a starting point. The upcoming AAA Celebrations will be feattring a wide gamut of artists of Asian descent performing with prominent Americn artists.
All deserving artists should get a fair change, no matter what color they are. There are many talented artists of Asian descent, some are being promoted through his management company that deserves a "listen."
I'm not going to buy an indie album just because it's from an asian artist.. Like Daniel Wu said they want to be known as good artists.. So I donno.. but If two artists were similar and one was asian, I'd probably buy the asian artist's album.
Sad that not many people (even Asian Pacific Americans) in the United States even know who he is. Odd since his manager is based in Southern California and he has long written for Giant Robot.
Isn't it odd that this Oakland-born and English-speaking doesn't get more props from Asian folks in the United States?
As Justin Lin has stated, talking about cohesiveness among AAs, how many APAs have gone out to BUY an indie music artist/film by an Asian American - few. In the Black, Hispanic, Irish, Mexican and other communities - they truly support their own artists.
Hes so hawt.(: I'm so proud to date his newphewwwwwww<3

For anyone that has listened to this video, one will realize that he is much more George Clooney than Ashton Kutcher

Corrections in "CAPS"
"while everybody outside were NOT aware of the George Clooney of HK WAS BEING INTERVIEWED"
"one just has to embrace . . and enjoy the privilege."

Were there any problems hearing and/or understanding Daniel's words?
Look forward to any comments on what Daniel spoke about?
Note:
Enjoyed the noise setting of your "UIBC Hilton LAX December 5th Ultimate Internet Bootcamp" video

How do you think he should voice his concerns?

Wow Daniel hit the head on that nail! Very articulately. Maybe he could try to voice his concerns even more publicly?
