I've built a buggie using an old toyota front wheel drive engine and put it in the back, problem is it'll only spin one wheel. Do you think it would be possible to lock the diff or weld it so that the two wheels spin. Would it mess up the steering, create loads of understeer?
If I had to pick out a weak spot, I'd say the rear shock rocker being mounted in single shear. It would have been nice if the pivot bolt were anchored to the curved tube on the outside as well as the straight tube on the inside. However the double triangle in the lower rear arm is very nice, being both functional & elegant.
if you put the engine so the car does not walk backwards?
