  • @erikallison i think its a gibson explorer

  • yo i have that same haircut xD

  • the brand of that guitar is a Dan'l Guitar, which is made by the guy in the video,Dan Terry. He creates and manufactures these guitars. Say what u want, but he is far from an idiot.

  • nice nails eeeeewwwwwwww

  • uhh if its coming up wouldnt you want to reseat and then thin glue it? THEN level if needed afterwards? why would you level a fret that is unseating itself and possibly going to do it more and again? Just my 2 cents.

  • hey guys!!! do you know the brand of this guitar in the video???

  • What if the frets are TOO LOW? How do you bring the frets UP?

  • if the frets arent level then when you play the note that has the buzz its rubbing against a raised fret so you have to level it by using a fret file and the way to check if they are level is to use a small flat surfaced object to check for rocking and if it isnt rocking then its level and the fret buzz will not be there but you have to polish the frets otherwise bits of metal can break your strings so its best to take your strings off before hand.

  • so how the fuck do you level the dam fret? thanks. now i cant learn through the fire & flames, dickmunch

  • @TheGOODMUSICRADIO all the girlies say hes pretty fly ( for a bald guy)

  • his youtube name shouldnt be expervillage should be tardvillage

  • ok im not taking a file to my strings nooo sir

  • what kind of guitar is that yo?

  • moronvillage

  • Expertvillage probably have the worst guitar videos known to man. They show you now information on how to do anything, but the just tell you.

  • id probably watch expert village videos if they were so fucken wack!

  • Cavemen play the guitar nowadays too?

  • wow 138 thousand vids, hehe anyways i have a guitar and my d string is really buzzy do i need to adjust the truss rod

  • wow!! This really helped?

  • ummmm, well only file down frets if they pop up a lot, even then, just have it re-fretted, should go, bridge and nut adjusting, THEN neck and truss rod adjusting, if you can't re-fret or pop it back into place, THEN file.

  • Here's real naive comment. Since there's always more distance between the frets at the bottom of the neck then there is at the top, why aren't frets placed higher at the bottom to even that out? First thought is...then the spacing between the neck and the top of the fret makes it awkward or uncomfortable for the finger tips, or pick action suffers...unless you made the surface of the wood move up at an angle at the bottom of the neck too. Bizarre idea, but what's really wrong with it?

  • @sclogse1 Guitars are already like that. But instead of having an oddly shaped neck you just adjust the string height at the bridge. That will change the angle of the strings in relation to the neck. And if you're picky about it, it's perfectly acceptable to sand down the bottom of the nut to make it lower or glue additional material to the bottom to make it higher. Obviously these will affect your string height, but I guess changing the angle of the neck would too.

  • i haaate commercials!!!!!!!!! aaaaaah!!!!!!!

  • @canitovega

A quick hit to the volume off key...practice makes perfect.

  • WARNING DONT LISTEN TO THIS CLOWN HES A IDIOT

IF YOU GET FRET BUZZING THERE ARE OTHER WAYS OF FIXING IT LIKE TRUST ROD AJUSTMENT YOU DO NOT FILE DOWN FRETS

I WOULDNT LET THIS FOOL FIX A BIKE LET ALONE MY GUITAR

  • I want to share an idea I tried : if you don't have a string action gauge, try a bank card. Probably a bit less accurate but at least size fits perfectly.

  • That's exactly what I was looking. A friend of mine mentionned I could mend the frets

of my guitar like that (He builded up 2 guitars, 1 cello, and a double-bass, you people "who don't like it") but I was unsure of the way to do it exactly. Thanks a lot.

  • lol that guitar looks cool but its fucking ugly at the same time

  • @Itsmichaelomg

I think he uses this guitar for video examples ; probably he doesn' want to mess up good guitars just for free.

  • If a fret managed to "raise up" like he says here, YOU NEED A NEW FRET! FRETS DON'T JUST "PULL UP" FOR NO REASON!!!!! If it is a maple neck, I use a razor to trim away the laquer, heat the fret just a bit with a soldering iron, then pull it out with flat nippers. For old school folks pull out the fret with flat nippers, then hammer the fret in, although the preffered way is a clamping press nowdays. Some luthiers are just not that smart I guess.

  • NAH MAN I GOTTA HIT THE BOOKS MAN

  • what kind of guitar is that

  • I would try hammering it down before filing the fuk outta things

  • @davey4557

dude seriously? youre supposed to press them in with a clamp, hammering is the dumbest thing ive ever heard. and filing works, i do all my own work to my guitars, you just have to be careful. "guitar professionals" like at guitar center either lie or dont know shit.

  • Nice hair.

  • get a hammer lol

  • will buzz be inevitable if u tune to drop c and use high guage strings?

  • @hailphire130 not really, it's actually better to use high gauge strings (thicker) for dropped tunings or they flap all over the place while you play on standard gauge strings.

  • @metallica5252 yea i use 11s, but i get a decent amount of buzz, or maybe its just me but im thinking buzz is just a standard thing when ur in drop c. because no matter how big the strings are, c is a low tuning and they will be loose

  • @hailphire130 that's not always true man..I have put my Gibson Les Paul in Dropped C before with 12s and I get no fret buzz whatsoever..then again it's a $1500 guitar so your best bet is to take your guitar to a professional they can fix it for ya because apparently your guitar isn't made for thicker strings..

  • @metallica5252 yea you're probably right, im gonna take mine to a pro soon and get it setup for drop c. also what was the action like on ur les paul was it decently low, like where your could play fast?

  • @hailphire130 anywhere on the neck really, the action is just right, not too low to cause fret buzz and not too high to make it unplayable unless you play slide guitar lol.

  • @metallica5252 i just took mine to get setup.....cant wait to play it again to see what it feels like cause this time its setup for drop c :D

  • @hailphire130 good to hear, I hope all goes well..

  • @metallica5252 thanks man me too i cant wait to play it

  • Hit the red CC button next to fullscreen

  • Is there anyone know how to get rid the text on this Video ? I can't see anything

  • how many mm should a .52 low e be above the 12th fret

  • i can't see anything

  • @nfarris1 Me too

  • that guitar looks kinda cool. what is it?

  • wheres the lesson?

  • nah i like d'adario exl 110s plain jane nickel wounds. they stay fresh 4ever

  • Ooo. Bill Lawrence pickups

  • Ernie Ball strings are much better than dadarios. I agree that deaf people can't play. However, I am tone deaf in the left ear so I rely heavily on my right. I can still pick out a tune but getting the right pitch when tuning the string is troublesome for me so I use a tuner.

  • why dont you take off the words retarded expert village.

  • @bianchiniman for deaf ppl

  • @osvas23 why would deaf ppl be playing guitar?

  • @bianchiniman they just put the subtitles automaticaly on all the vids

  • @osvas23 like i said thats kinda retarded

  • my 12, 13 and 14 fret on the high e string is almost not playable. They don't ring at all

  • Is this some incomplete lesson? Sucks to be me.

  • @z3r0sh1ft do you have AS too? Man, all the Ibanez issues, lol. If mine wasn't an old lmtd run and didn't sound so good i'd hock it. I normaly don't go for Ibanez but, this black RG770 i got sounds amazing...

  • people i have a different problem....i just got a new guitar (Ibanez GRG 270B) and it played fine...until i tried to change the tuning....then ALL of the strings have a buzz.......open or freted doesnt matter....so...help!

  • @BloodRaven876 your action was too low for that lower tuning. the strings are too loose and are hanging down causing that buzz. Higher the action a little bit then you can play in the lower tuning.

  • @boonec5 you don't have to raise tha action for lower tunings. you can do a a number of things to keep your low action. Adjust the neck tension and saddles. I generaly up the guage of string on the guitar as well to compensate but, my RG won't take anything heavier than 10's witthout giving me problems so i adjusted the tensin of the neck and the spring claw and saddles and it's fine. I COULD, up the guage but, it feels good for that guitar. It's in drop c. I use 11-50's and 12-52's normaly.

  • my version is, put some new strings on....tune it up,,,, capo first fret and finger down on the twelve fret and look at the gap in between, then take a fat bong hit..................

  • ya but you treat your guitar a like a person.

  • my rg420eg has a "twang" on the low E(6th) , does anybody know how i can help that,is it a action problem or somthing, it does buzz alil clean, the twang isnt there when i fret it past like the third fret i think, plz reply if you have any suggestions

  • that guitar turns me on jk

  • I just go with a buzz not mutalate my guitar like this

i think of my guitar as a person i wouldn't want that done to me

  • It's a guitar... not a person...

  • @hamster315 that reminds me. I haven't taken my guitar out to dinner and a movie in awhile...no wonder i'm not getting any good action....

  • @

    posiedonpowertrio

I completely agree. I can understand why some players want a completely clean sound, but to me a touch of buzz adds colour to the guitar.

If you ever listen to some of the first electric blues recordings, you can hear quite a bit of buzz and that stuff is brilliant.

Every guitar has its own character.

  • Come on... everyone needs a bit of dental work or an operation once in a while =)

  • lol. well put posiedonpowertrio

  • when he says the stings at the beginign he sound like hes talking to a buch of retarded kids

  • i just bought an epi riviera and ever since i got it its been buzzing. istring are new(not sure what gauge) and my three base strings have buzzing non stop. i cant play a fifth beacause the sound is really irritating. Any help Please

  • check the action of the guitar

  • Am I the only one who thinks that ugly thing is actually kinda cool looking?

  • @Wheelio no its cool

  • @Wheelio are you talking about the old man tlaking?

  • @Wheelio your right for a bald guy he is pretty handsome

  • How much cheaper can a guitar string be? The're like 5 bucks aren't they? I don't play guitar, but from what i remember guitar strings are very affordable. Try owning a bass guitar and trying different strings constantly.

  • what an ugly guitar

  • what an idiot, if you lower one fret , the previous one will not buzz but the that one will. never do what his guy does, just take sand paper and start rubbing from the last fret all the way up to the 12th almost equally but apply more preasure to the highest ones

  • @Grenendel

    you're an idiot

  • 5 hundredths of an inch ( 5 divided by one hundred= 0.05 ). Well you know what a 64th is...coz you can see it on your ruler. you are looking at just over three 64ths....3.2 divided by 64 equals 0.05 of an inch. That is FAT...NOW ' one five hundredth of an inch '...that IS pretty small ....get your good old ruler 64th and DIVIDE that into about EIGHT parts....since 8 x 64 = 512...maybe that was your initial thought xXxcamxxxxxxxx

  • i just bought a new schecter 7 string and it has new D'Addario's strings on it and i've never used D'Addario's strings(or any other "good" guitar strings cuz im cheap and buy walmart strings" and i can't tell if it's a rattle kind of sound cuz they're new,or if it's string buzz. can anyone help?

  • u might wanna bring up the action a tad bt

  • you may not have bought the right gauge

  • Lots of variables involved here, i.e. type of bridge, fret height, depth of nut slots, neck relief, etc. Get the strings you're most comfortable with & find a reputable guitar shop and have them do the set up properly with your favorite strings. After that, don't do any adjusting yourself or you could alter the action, intonation, etc. If you don't have the right specialized tools, knowledge, & experience, you can really create more problems than you can solve.

  • wt bout Ernie Ball Slinky Strings? cheap and sound good and feel good

  • @GrowlingManiac

    SOOOOOOOOO TRUE

  • @GrowlingManiac realy im thinking of moving to ernie ball stringsfrom daddarios

do ernies have a long life

  • @GrowlingManiac Dude Ernie Ball is all i use

  • @GrowlingManiac Ghs Boomers for me

  • @GrowlingManiac i happen to love super slinky's and regular slinky's

  • It's not from the strings... it's always been a debated issue but strings are strings to me, sure different guages matter and coated strings are nice... to me the tone is really from your pickups, amps etc. SRV felt the same way and would use any strings (he preffer 13s then later moved to 11s).

  • @TheMadMusicMan SRV said tone comes from THE STRINGS

  • xXcam, you should really exercise your powers of thought before you post comments, that way you save embarrassing yourself.

if on the other hand, you actually meant what you said, then I recommend you contact either your math teacher or a good optometrist.

    or both.

  • LOL. "fret has pulled up, not by much, maybe only 5 hundredths of an inch"

5 hundreths of an inch, that's fifty thou, which is near enough the thickness of a light gauge bass E string.

if the fret was raised by that much, you wouldn't need a "string action gauge" to see it, you could see it with the naked eye from across the room.

this guy cracks me up every time ...

  • why in every expertvillage video they say only the most obivious things, never ever anything interesting..

  • god it cant get any more boring than this

  • Hey...i have a strange problem with my electric guitar. Some fret notes cause the free strings to vibrate...without touching them. Why the hell does this happen?

  • hey. i have the same problem.. it happens with all guitar i think.. its the vibration from other strings causing open ones to slightly buzz

  • Yeah, someone explained this to me. It's because of the resonance(physics fenomen). Complicated stuff. At least there's nothing wrong with our guitars xD

  • ive got this problem too!

just changed my strings and my low E and A are buzzing each time i play .

am a beginner for about a year now and i am clueless about guitar setups or repair or whatsoever only know how to tune, change strings and play haha

    what do i do? thanks

  • probs just take it to a shop...that's what im doing...setup cost at most £50

  • what kind of guitar is that?

  • Looks like an Explorer to me

  • Looks like a reversed explorer, actually.

  • my b.c. rich trace warbeast buzzes on the 4 string 5th fret. i tried adjusting the trus rodd, bridge adjustments, nut leveling and more. p.s. its a string through body model. any help?

  • your frets may have been fretted bad in the factory.

  • yea im a victim of that. i shouldve got it replaced, but i was new at guitar and didnt know much so I thought it would go away.

  • i have a problem with Fret buzz on the E string (thickest string) its a floyd rose bridge, what can i do without major ajustment, im a beginner

  • most beginners have the problem with buzzing. if ur guitar is fairly new, then u might not be holding down the string all the way. if you are, have some one at a music store take a look at it.

it could be a number of things as well. it could mean it's time to change ur strings. i use D'addario extra lights. look into them. and look at my videos too! leave a comment and let me know what u think.

  • i have the same type of bridge... it was working well but one day i woke up and my 6th string too was buzzing more than usual. i'll keep researching what to do but most likely i'll go to the guitar store and have a tech fix it.

  • i have the same problem too

  • this guy sounds like jim root when he gets older

  • guyss try this if you only have electro guitar!! if u have acoustic gutar it better to just higher the bridge. if that doent fix ur buzzing than i sggest u to try this video

  • anyone know how to fix a nut were one of the gaps is so low, its making the string touch the fretboard and very first fret (so annoying!)

  • buy a new nut?

  • why?

i already have two good ones :]

  • you might already have figured it out, but i'd recommend trying a truss rod adjustment.

  • @tman916x

how the hell does truss rod adjustment fix a worn nut?

  • @AshDrummer8

buy a new nut, I recommend bone or graph-tech

  • If the fret has lifted on one side of the neck, don't file it. press it back down or use a plastic hammer and set it back inplace.

  • im in a jam i have a concert tonight but when i hit a open note all i hear is buzz when i fret it the buzz is less but is still there just a little it sounds like the buzz is coming from the bottom part of the bridge if i hit a note then slightly push my hand on the area of buzz it goes away but as soon as i lift it it is buzzing what can i do to fix this in the next 4 hours before the concert

  • now how to you RAISE a lowered fret :D

  • gum

  • how would gum help?

  • stick it on to make the fret higher...... duh

  • duct tape works too

  • or a tooth pick

  • (: yay thank you.
