Its not really about originality though, right? sunset rubdown (and plent of other bands) use different riffs, chords, instruments, recording styles, etc. as other bands to say something. Just because we've already heard the language doesn't mean its unoriginal. We don't call writers who use similar words (or even sentences) as writers before them hacks, or unoriginal.
