  • To those saying "herp derp sounds like Wolf Parade"... do a quick wiki or google search. WP and SR both have Spencer Krug as the singer. Same with Swan Lake. Same with Moonface. He's simply prolific.

  • Ah ha, it all makes sense now :D

  • Very similar to wolf parade...

  • @dougiestyle68 I think it would be, as they both have the same lead singer.

  • @dougiestyle68 but better!

  • WRAS Atlanta Album 88

  • I smell a Wolf Parade....

  • I thought this was about to be Interpol when I heard the dudes voice

  • @JubileeGiggles ..but then you noticed that this isn't a whitewashed, monotonous, no-talent ensemble of junior college dropouts, and realized that it COULDN'T be Interpol.

  • @wwaxwingcrashh ...except that i didn't

  • @wwaxwingcrashh i think interpol's pretty good, i like their album antics. no i'm not trying to starting a fight on youtube with this comment, just sharing my opinion.

  • @33laplante I respect all opinions based on some semblance of reality. So.. you're just baselessly wrong.

  • I haven't heard of this band before but his voice sounds Ian-Cutis-ey!! Still pretty original though... FAVOURITE!!

  • 4:35 til 6:03 is the best part of the song for me, super feeling

  • His voice sounds a bit like Interpol's lead singer.

    Nice song!

  • @Silvade14 bunny drums-robert smithson! i was saying its a cross between sisters of mercy and the cars too lol maybe interpol.this has a goth sound.real good stuff.heard it on the radio earlier today and loved it.

  • wait.. "if i were a horse i would throw up" that line is in dragons lair isn't it?

  • @OneClickSounds it's in the men are called horsemen there from the album shut up i'm dreaming

  • @darksider7140 oh, okay thanks. Glad you weren't a douche about my mistake like 90% of youtubers.

  • @OneClickSounds oh but i am but i like that you noticed the reference

  • @OneClickSounds dumb fuck!

  • @OneClickSounds It's "If I were a horse I would throw up the reins if I was you."

I don't know why you silly people are thinking of that line as referring to vomiting horses.

  • @OneClickSounds The line is, "If I were a horse, I would throw off the reins if I were you."

  • Dear Spencer Krug,

    Horses cannot throw up.

    Sincerely, NiehillListick

  • @NiehillListick not "puke" but literally throw up.like im throwing my hands up at this comment.see it used in text ;)

  • Dragonslayer album is really great. I like it even better then the Black Mountain stuff. I think they are even from the same label. And whats wrong with these 12 people :O?

  • @ghost2031 They don't know their idiot hearts.

  • Well your cat cant settle down... wait I meant cant cant >_<

  • i like how he makes a reference to the men are called horsemen there, awesome, he keeps integrating old songs into the new ones, for the fans!!! thanks spencer

  • I love his voice, btw. Very distinctive. Reminds me somewhat of Isaac Brock of Modest Mouse.

  • @SpaceMonkey1983 the vocals are great!

  • i personally don't give a damn if it sounds like something else. it's good stuff. why does it matter?

  • I personaly think this is their best song

  • rockin placebo

  • This was my favorite song off of Dragonslayer.

  • soo good! supr like!

  • Finally something good in Youtube's recommendations

  • sunset rubdown = one of the greatest bands ever

    just saying

  • spencer krug is my hero

  • quite like it^^

  • Ahhhhh, the line "I hope that you died in a decent pair of shoes" just gives me a feeling. I don't know what kind of feeling it is, but I think I like it.

  • @tymaster59 I KNOW! OH MY GOD thought i was the only one. Such a good line you guys!

  • Totally ripping off Bowie.

  • @in2itv laziest criticism ever.

  • @misterbizzones Why?

  • @in2itv & Bowie ripped off Byan Ferry & Mark Bolan... we could go on like that forever

  • Realy like the misic and loving the lyrics!!!

One of the greatest songs i ever heard!!!

  • Great song. Glad to get this into the states now.

  • I'm sure this has been said to death but this is very Talking Heads-ish. I love it. Most original thing I've heard this decade...wait...this decade just began. Well, you know what I mean: Its been a long time.

  • the decade hasn't begun. It hasn't even finished. A decade is 10 years, we are still in the 10th year of this decade. A new decade begins in 2011.

  • It really isn't that serious!

  • @jabrinks

Well if you include 2000 as being the first year of the decade, then at the end of 2009, it would have been 10 years. Perhaps you're disqualifying the year 2000 though, since there was no year 0.

  • a decade is a measurement of time.. it doesnt matter when it starts or end. 1994 - 2004 is a decade

  • @joeyjbs Ah 2004, that's when the world ended. In fact, we are all just spirits roaming around. All life died in 2004. Lol

  • @joeyjbs Wrong. That would be 1994 - 2003 respectively 1995 - 2004.

  • @Reckoner89 calm down

  • @jabrinks wow, are you serious? go back to school you idiot.

  • @MsGucciSu You meen Interpolish ?!

  • Love this song and band.... but it kinda throws me off sometimes when Spencer reuses lyrics. Like he used the line from "the men are called horsemen" in this song.... its odd

  • A lot of the songs are a continuous or inter-laying story.

  • Best song on the album imho. Very reminiscent of The Arcade Fire.

  • Is this anything to do with the lead singer from wolf parade ??????????????????

  • it is the lead singer of wolf parade

  • @rappernewi Spencer Krug is lead vocals for this band too.

  • Spencer Krug = Wolf Parade, Moonface, Frog Eyes, Sunset Rubdown, Swan Lake.. and some instrumental band that sucks

  • @Pewpewharhar Fifths of Seven is legit.

    Don't even talk.

  • Ya very Interpolish. Not meaning from inside Poland. Ever hear of the band the National. look that up

  • sounds more like julian plenti than interpol

  • Umm, whats the difference?

  • @cdfjgfvbjfldhnbsdkjh I think it's a joke.

  • Interpol? Hmm, I never made that connection. This is the only song that you could say that about. Everything else on the album sounds nothing like Interpol.

  • this song is so Interpolish, but in a good way ;]

  • Its not really about originality though, right? sunset rubdown (and plent of other bands) use different riffs, chords, instruments, recording styles, etc. as other bands to say something. Just because we've already heard the language doesn't mean its unoriginal. We don't call writers who use similar words (or even sentences) as writers before them hacks, or unoriginal. MA MA MA Motifs!!!

  • @iforgotit54 Something is only unoriginal if it doesn't progress whatever medium/artform it uses to express its message, if i may say so without completely disagreeing with you. Great comment btw.

  • @iforgotit54 oh without a doubt.im just talking about how sunset sounds like good other bands but totally has thier own flavor.wolf parade is less dark i guess.like i said i heard em on the radio.you know aswell as i do if your not tuned in to some college station the music is probably gonna be pop chart crap.

  • LOVE THEM!

  • i think this and apollo are definitely my favorites on this album.dragons lair is a close 2nd though!

  • it's just like wolf paradee"!

  • The singer's the same, you know. It's Spencer Krug. He's in Wolf Parade, Frog Eyes, Sunset Rubdown, and Swan Lake, far as I know.

  • It is true and you can always tells it is him. I heart the voice.

  • I'm pretty sure he's no in frog eyes.

  • @XeniaHubris He's not in Frog Eyes anymore and to my knowledge he only played guitar and never sang for them. However, the singer for Frog Eyes sounds somewhat similar to Spencer Krug and is also in Swan Lake.

  • wolf parade actually, look it up before you sound foolish

  • NOOOO fools..... If ya wanna know where he's from.... he's that fish in the Brak Show in "one fish lake" lol

    Sounds excactly like it! lol

  • He sounds like Bowie, Ian Curtis and Yeasayer's deformed baby.

  • where do we go from here,to compare, thats codensending,to state uh the obivious, yes i"m slightly to moderatly autistic ignorance is no excuse, weve got to reach out rockonbonzo76!!!!

  • 3:08 Joy division drums

  • this and Tin Tin Can's EP "Confetti Machete" have been on heavy rotation for me.

  • this is a great song! it has interpolish qualities.

  • Bought this album, it is mostly amazing.

  • there pretty cool

  • one of the best albums of 2009 for the moment!

  • untill today, Wild Beasts new album is frickin mint!

  • reminds me of Talking Heads. Great song!

  • Totally!

  • this album solidifies Krug as the reigning king of music for me.

  • amen to that

  • Definitely one of my new favorites... ;)

  • I fail to see how any of this is Cookie-cutter... its not quite revolutionary, but its still original

  • I agree with Samuelsoon. It's nothing revolutionary, but it's original and has a great sound. The only thing worse than hipsters are the people who never shut the fuck up about how much they hate indie rock and how ''cookie cutter it is''. By the way, nice favorite videos, tool.

  • And then there's people who can only talk about music that's revolutionary, or original..it doesn't have to be either to be good. Christ, is that hard to see. This isn't THAT original, but it's a great album nonetheless. Music can be the very similar to all the shit done before it and still be good.

    Just my opinion.

  • You're retarded.

Find something that is not by Krug or Mercer that sounds like this.

  • wolf parade? Frog eyes? Swan lake? oh wait...

  • Do you have a problem with reading comprehension? Or is that some kind of strange joke?

"Find something that is not by Krug or Mercer that sounds like this."

    "not by Krug or Mercer"

  • it was a joke dipshit. a terrible joke. no need to be a douche about it

  • sry guy

  • if you listen to the song its a very appropriate reuse of lyrics, the song in itself holds a very similar tone to the men are called horsemen there...

  • corndogs

  • That is a bit sloppy.

  • crazy how the song builds up towards the end!!! mad track yo!

  • :))))))))))))))))

  • I've been diggin this song all day.

  • Spencer Krug own the indie rock reputation on is shoulders...
