A tip to gather the hat properly, make the circumference 3 times longer than the band, then you cand just pull it so its tight, to make a tights and even gather
haha i have like a hundred pair of jeans at home. i've mae shirts and bags with a pear handle out of them but i was young so they didnt stay to well together!
well, I had a bathrobe that was pretty much "t " shaped, so i traced a pattern with sleeves as part of the main body (like a caftan).
I gave it longer sleeves, and made the whole thing a bit longer and fuller. then i cuffed the sleeves, and edged the front and collar with a long strip of the fabric. then i made the belt and loops, I didn't bother with pockets.
I just had fun with it, made it has part of a costume originaly.
didn't actualy sew on the belt loops until a year latter.
There's alot of room for improvement on your apron. First, a bedsheet isn't rigid or heavy enough for outdoor cooking and does not offer much fire protection. Mine is 2 sided with duckcloth. Second, I find D-rings to be a simple way to adjust the waistband without making it more complicated. I didn't add adjustability to my neck band, but in retrospect i would have added D-ring adjustability there as well. Finally, I find pockets to be very useful for holding spices or a towel.
WHERE IS THE PATTERN/?????

Can you do an episode where you have a bunch of stuff to do with old demin??
Everyone has old jeans they have no sweet clue to do wither.
eternalartisan 2 years ago 9
i just cut up an old pair to patch up another old pair.
i got 'em on now. (lol!)
i'm gonna try to make a hat, or something out of the bits i got left.
ooh! hey, how about a denim neck, or bow tie? or a hand bag, or back pack?
loved this vid., bed sheets are a great source of fabric. I've made myself an awesome bath robe, and used some left overs for a lamp shade.

It would have been great to do a video honoring our military, since that is what Memorial Day is all about. Too many people forget that...
A video making stuff out of old military uniforms would be really cool.
