@theBlackQ Did you add another layer? What you're erasing is the top layer which reveals the original layer underneath. If you don't, it'll be white underneath.

Best way to do this effectively is to select parts of the face one by one and then add the blur. That way you keep accents intact. This way the entire image is blurred and you can see where it went wrong (cheek on the left near ear). Also apply a mask afterwards.

First off, all of your tutorials are just great. I never knew quite how many things were hidden away in Photoshop, and you have a very clear and professional way of demonstrating them.

It does make me wonder, though, why for all of your tutorials there seems to be a pretty consisten 20-30 dislike ratings. It's like there's some little group of people out there who seem to hate you freely showing everyone the tricks of the trade. At least, that's my theory. :P

I don't understand why everyone thinks this is so great... there was no way that skin looked realistic, more like a mannequin. Human skin is supposed to have pores not look like plastic. This sort of makeover would never be accepted at a high level.
