i wonder if there is intelligent life on this planet, and if so do they know about us, and do they know that we know about them now...and do they have the technology to reach us.. if they learn anything about our history they will possibly be worried about us being able to reach them..and if so.. are we screwed?????
Because of all this think about the fact that there are far more stars in the known universe than grains of sand or even grains of similar sediments to sand on every beach, desert, sandbox, vollyball court and other of the world, think about this.
Our fastest craft travels around 35,000 mph. It would take around 11 million years to arrive. Your best hope would be creating a space time wave (like an ocean wave) and ride it. The speed of light only goes as fast as space time will allow it to... it may be possible to create a wave that travels faster than the speed of light in "normal conditions". You'd feel normal, but traveling faster than light in conditions surrounding the wave.

I estimate 50 earth years this way.
