Even if you had the 250 for a dj screen, if you can make one yourself for a fraction of the cost then why not make your own.
As for me, I'd probably have to buy once since I have zero talent for anything diy! :) lol And these companies know there are lots of people out there like myself who couldn't be bothered or who are too lazy to go the diy route. Now if my fience wants to try it, I won't have any problems with that.
How would I project a PowerPoint or windowsmoviemaker video from a laptop or USB on that?

for my projector im just usin a sheet and pined on the wall and its about 2.5 meters long and 1.5 meters up and it works

Another great reason this is a great tip is that after spending a lot of money on a "regular" screen they can get ripped, stained, damaged.

I Agree with doing it from Scratch!
DJ Screens/skirts whoever are a comapny, so they will charge an excessive amount for what you receive.
